Dear Editor,
Advocates for Recovery Colorado Foothills Program now offers FREE Peer Recovery Coach services for anyone in Gilpin seeking help with substance use recovery. Services include 1-on-1 coaching, peer-led All Recovery Meetings, and substance-free, recovery social events.
Peer recovery coaches walk side by side with individuals seeking recovery from substance use. They help people create their own recovery plans and develop personal recovery pathways. They provide guidance, emotional and practical support, including setting goals and connecting clients to resources—through every step of the recovery journey.
All Recovery Meetings are led by coaches. Meetings provide a safe, supportive space for connection and sharing. All are welcome, as AFRC celebrates and supports all pathways of recovery in our community of solutions. Cross talk is welcome and encouraged.
Recovery social events are designed to be supportive, bringing the communities of recovery together. These events offer fun, substance-free social opportunities to reduce isolation, build confidence, and support ongoing recovery in a positive environment. Some past events include BBQ, kickball, movie and game nights, hikes and other outdoor activities.
“We are excited to bring these services to Gilpin County!” said Sean Hedden, Regional Manager of the AFRC Foothills program. “Our coach, Lindsay Gianola, is a resident of Gilpin and her lived experience in recovery will provide hope, empowerment, and guidance in the lives of residents needing that support.”
To connect with the Gilpin Peer Recovery Coach and learn about meetings or events, contact Lindsay Gianola at 720-769-7210 or email at lindsaygianola@advocatesforrecovery.org.
