A special space to share with other artists and a love for community were the motivating factors for Danielle Crouse to open her studio. The business was born in March of 2020 with her intention to collaborate with other artists rather than compete with them.
Painting is what Danielle lives for. Her portraits of animals, especially local animals, catch their personalities at a soul level. Her talent is appreciated locally as she participates with Wild Bear Nature Center during their EcoArts Lounge Shows and summer workshops. The studio is not for painting alone, however. Danielle provides art supplies, creation space, a large format scanner, large format printer, computer programs for design in her peaceful town center location. These artist’s tools are available to share along with her encouragement to express creativity.
Legendary Medicine’s Eileen Teller provided the inspiration for this special space to be created with this special artist. The space contains a treatment room, tea room and now DMC Artwork’s art studio. Danielle believes that accessibility to the arts is the key and the method is to provide original artwork, reproductions, lessons and technology to manifest a viable business model.
Consistent encouragement from family, peers, neighbors and others have left Danielle with the philosophy “If I have a talent I should be sharing it and working with it. Art heals and inspires and people love it.” Since making the decision to start the studio, she has been incredibly busy with networking and being involved with community projects. The business location in the town of Nederland has given her the opportunity to become more involved with local projects such as Nederland Public Art through the DDA.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Danielle fell in love with the Rocky Mountains, much of her art is the wildlife of the area including wild horses, foxes and hummingbirds. She was trained and obtained a bachelor’s degree in graphic design. Her mediums include graphite, pastel, acrylic, oil and crayon. She also enjoys photography and coaching others with idea development.
Community support has sustained Danielle in the form of commissions, creative gigs and networking. She feels Nederland has assisted her in getting to the present where her art is blooming. Her ideas are being given time and space to flourish. She sees herself supporting the arts in the community for a long time to come.
Danielle can also be found at the Kaliedoscope Fine Arts Gallery demonstrating her style of portraiture.
