Dear Editor,

On Sunday, August 10 at 10 a.m. in the pavilion at Chipeta Park in Nederland a Community-wide Church Service will be held honoring local students and educators, just three days before the new school year begins in Boulder Valley School District.

The service is being hosted by the town’s three churches: Calvary Chapel, Nederland Community Presbyterian Church and St. Rita Catholic Church. All residents are invited to attend regardless of their religious affiliation.

All students and educators attending will receive a small memento from the churches.  Both students and educators will participate as speakers in the family friendly service. Worship leaders from all three churches will each deliver a brief message about the importance of community support for children and educators.

Worship leaders participating include Rev. Zach Hancock from Nederland Community Presbyterian Church, Pastor Seth Baumhover from Calvary Chapel and St. Rita Catholic Church Worship Leader David Rasmussen.

Offering donations contributed at the service will be donated to the parent teacher organizations at Nederland Elementary School, Nederland Middle/Senior High School and Chinook West School.

In addition, attendees are encouraged to bring boxes of cereal to the service to donate to the Love Your Neighbor Cereal Drive benefitting the Nederland Food Pantry.
