Dear Editor,
I urge Central City voters to vote NO on Measure 2A on November 4, 2025, to protect the character and integrity of our city. By voting “NO” on Measure 2A, we can ensure that sexually oriented businesses remain restricted to areas zoned industrial, far from our historic Main Street, welcoming residents, families, and visitors to an environment focused on heritage and arts, not the sex industry.
A “YES” vote on Measure 2A would allow any property with frontage on Main Street to operate as an adult arcade, cabaret, nude model studio, adult motel, adult motion picture theater, adult theater, or sexual encounter center. If you vote yes on this measure, businesses will legally be allowed to offer (verbatim from city code) sexual arousal, pleasure, gratification, and abuse at a sexual encounter center—on Main Street, in a town of fewer than 800 people. Do we, the people of Central City, really want to be known for our sex industry that openly allows abuse? Common sense tells us this will destroy our town’s character.
Speaking of character (or lack thereof), I encourage you to Google “RCI indictment fraud and bribery,” “RCI prostitution,” and “RCI wage theft Denver” to learn about this business and its operators. Equally concerning, the owner of the illegally operating adult cabaret on Main Street has reportedly bought and rented housing to influence this vote. This underscores the importance of every voter’s voice. It’s time for all legitimate residents to speak up and show up in person on November 4, 2025, to make their stance clear.
Let’s keep Central City’s Main Street a beacon of community pride, not turn it into a red-light district. Vote NO on Measure 2A to preserve the heart of our town.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Blondo
Central City resident
