Dear Readers,
My name is John Caldwell. I am running in the Republican primary for House District 49 on June 28. I live and work in Clear Creek County.
I never thought about being a politician before, but my wife and I are raising our 12 year old grandson. Over the last couple of years I have watched as our state and nation has changed. Our freedoms and our American way of life is being taken away from us. I wondered what kind of country my grandson was going to grow up in. I decided to stand up and fight for his freedoms.
I need your help to continue that fight into November. The average family is being crushed by inflation and high energy costs. We need to loosen the restrictions on the energy industry in this state to help bring down the cost of fuel. Fuel costs drive up the prices of everything. That would be the first thing that would have the most immediate impact on working families.
Next, we need to reinvest in our police departments. If you are being attacked, you want a well-trained police officer showing up, not a social worker. The social worker is to help you afterwards. I am fighting to make Colorado safer and more affordable again.
The candidate that you should vote for in a primary should be the person that you feel has the best chance of winning in November. I feel that I am that person. I have strong conservative values that will not change. But my up-front, honest approach and common-sense solutions to our everyday problems appeal to people all across the political spectrum. I have been told by many voters who have different viewpoints that they find me open and relatable. Gilpin County School Board President Joe Marr has endorsed my candidacy.
Again, I ask for all Republicans and Independents to vote for me, John Caldwell, on June 28 in the Republican primary.
