Business Short Takes: Nedernet

Posted

Monica LaSalle, Nederland. Nedernet, Inc. is a locally owned and operated ISP offering broadband high-speed internet service all along the Peak to Peak region. Employing the latest wireless networking technology, they bring fast connectivity right to the comfort of your home at an affordable price. Seasonal plans are available at the residential level and higher with a minimum of 6 months of service. They offer a 10 percent off discount for seniors aged 65 and over on every plan.

They have been offering wireless access since 2001 and as Nederland’s first residential broadband provider, they have either seen or tried it all. Nedernet has been established in Nederland since 1997 and they plan on staying. They have a full-time staff in Nederland which includes network administrators to offer excellent customer support as a main priority.

Nedernet has invested in a large amount of bandwidth in order to meet the speed and reliability needs of their clients. Their sophisticated bandwidth management software gives you the bandwidth you pay for, and limits other clients’ ability to monopolize the connection. Their wireless backbone (link to the repeaters) uses the relatively noise-free 5.8 GHz band, reducing interference on the repeaters. They also offer the best coverage of any provider, so you’re assured a good connection wherever you are in our service area.

While most of their service is offered in Nederland, Rollinsville proper, Wedgwood and Eldora, they also offer service in Bar-K Ranch in Jamestown, Allenspark and Ward. If you’re not sure about your area, give them a call. Those outside the established coverage area are encouraged to find neighbors who are also interested in getting service; it will only take about 5 customers to expand coverage in an area. Most installations can be completed within 48 hours. Call 303-258-7922 for an appointment, email them at support@nedernet.net, or stop by at 136 West 1st Street in Nederland (across from Kathmandu). They can also be found on Facebook and Twitter.
