Black Hawk postpones decision on T-Mobile tower

Jacqueline Hart Gibson, Black Hawk. The Black Hawk City Council was called to order at 3 p.m. on July 24, 2020, in a virtual meeting via Zoom. All city council members and Mayor Spellman were in attendance. The Pledge of Allegiance was observed and no conflicts of interest were reported. The approval of the minutes from the regular meeting held June 24, 2020, carried unanimously. 

In public hearings a resolution denying a variance to allow a height variance which would allow a structure 103 feet in height and a resolution conditionally approving a certificate of architectural compatibility and a site development plan for the T Mobile facility, located at 821 Miners Mesa Road, were both continued to August 26, 2020, at 3 p.m.  

A resolution conditionally approving a certificate of architectural compatibility for exterior fencing on the property located at 211 Horn Street, was removed from the agenda due to the withdrawal of the application. 

An ordinance approving the intergovernmental agreement between the city of Black Hawk and Gilpin County regarding the November 3, 2020, special election, carried unanimously. 

 In action items, a resolution authorizing the city to file a petition for exclusion into the Black Hawk Business Improvement District, and setting the hearing, passed unanimously. 

A resolution approving the land dedication agreement between the city of Black Hawk, Colorado and Club Vista Properties II, LLC, and a resolution accepting City of Black Hawk 2019 Audit, both carried unanimously. 

There were no reports given by City Manager Cole or City Attorney Hoffman, although Attorney Hoffman did request an executive session. The council meeting adjourned at 3:07 p.m. for private session.
