Black Hawk Police Reports, April 2025
On 4/1/25, officers were dispatched to the Lodge Casino to assist the Division of Gaming, which had one party in custody for a warrant, among other new charges. Officers transported the arrestee to the Gilpin County Jail, where they were released back into the Division of Gaming's custody.
On 4/1/25, at approximately 1:57 a.m., officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino for a theft. The suspect left the casino before officers arrived, but he was identified and will be contacted.
On 4/1/25, at approximately 6:50 a.m., an officer observed a suspicious vehicle in the Monarch Casino parking garage. The occupant was contacted in the back seat of the vehicle. The subject initially lied about his identity and then confirmed he was lying. An officer recognized the suspect from a previous contact and knew he was lying. The suspect was found to have five active arrest warrants and was transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 4/1/25, an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a disturbance occurring in a hotel room. One of the involved parties was arrested and charged with assault.
On 4/1/25, at approximately 11:04 a.m., an officer observed a fictitious license plate attached to a parked vehicle in the Dakota parking lot. The license plate was cleared and found to be for a different make and model of vehicle. The VIN was cleared and there was no listed owner. The plate was seized for evidence.
On 4/1/25, at approximately 6:01 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Miners Road and Main Street. Officers issued a summons for driving an unregistered vehicle and not presenting insurance upon request.
On 4/2/25, officers observed a vehicle commit a traffic infraction. Officers initiated a traffic stop. The driver was released on a warning for driving behavior.
On 4/2/25, Black Hawk officers responded to 488 Main Street on a report of a harassment that took place on the casino floor. Officers conducted an investigation and identified the victim and suspect in this case. Officers took statements and cleared the scene as they could not locate the suspect at the time.
On 4/2/25, at approximately 5:28 a.m., officers were dispatched to drugs found at the Monarch Casino. Once officers arrived, they encountered one of the suspects. After further investigation, officers were unable to determine who the drugs belonged to. Officers escorted the suspect off of the property.
On 4/2/25, an officer responded to the 400 block of Chase Gulch Road for a mine shaft opening that may have been tampered with. The investigation was completed, no criminal activity was found, and a report was taken.
On 4/2/25, the officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino on a report of dine-and-dash from the 24/7 restaurant. The suspect was located and issued a ticket for theft.
On 4/2/25, at approximately 7:22 p.m., officers responded to the Bally's parking garage on a traffic complaint. It was reported that the driver was tailgating on the way up the canyon.
On 4/2/25, officers were on foot patrol at the Monarch Casino when a disturbance occurred. An investigation revealed no criminal charges, and the parties were escorted from the property.
On 4/2/25, at approximately 10:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to a Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately (REDDI) report for an intoxicated party leaving the garage in a Chevy Silverado at Bally's parking garage at 255 Main Street. Once officers arrived, they located the vehicle and the suspect. After a brief interaction, the suspect fled from the officers towards the Lodge Casino valet at 240 Main Street. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect and make an arrest. The suspect was issued a summons and was taken to St. Anthony's Hospital.
On 4/3/25, at approximately 1:15 p.m., officers took a phone report with an Ameristar Casino facilities employee who wanted to report a silver two-wheeled trailer that was stolen sometime last summer. The Ameristar Casino facilities employee stated that they just wanted a report taken for insurance purposes. A report was taken.
On 4/3/25, at approximately 3:21 p.m., officers responded to the Carriage House parking garage located at 270 Gregory Street on a report of damaged property. Once on scene, officers contacted Black Hawk Public Works employees who noticed one of the speakers on the 2nd level was hanging by some wires. Public Works confirmed that the speaker was still in working order and was able to zip tie the speaker back to the pillar temporally. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the speaker had fallen due to weather and no criminal action occurred. A report was taken.
On 4/3/25, at approximately 2:17 p.m., officers were notified of a welfare check of a suicidal party possibly in the City of Black Hawk. Grave shift officers took over the call and continued to look into the report. A report was taken, and an attempt to locate was placed on the party's vehicle through CCIC/NCIC.
On 4/3/25, at approximately 10:45 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for the number of plates improperly attached. After investigation, the driver was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail on Driving Under the Influence and Violation of a Protection Order on alcohol stipulations.
On 4/4/25, at approximately 12:15 a.m., an officer responded to the Monarch Casino, located at 488 Main Street, on a report of harassment that had previously occurred. After a review of surveillance footage, it was determined that a crime had occurred, but neither the victim or suspect was able to be identified. A report was completed.
On 4/4/25, an officer responded to the report of a disabled vehicle at the corner of Main Street and Highway 119. The vehicle was towed, and the road was cleared.
On 4/4/25, at approximately 9 a.m., an officer responded to mile marker 6.5 on Highway 119 in reference to a motor vehicle accident that had just occurred in which two light poles were struck. Upon arrival it was determined that two separate accidents had occurred, and the vehicle that struck the second light pole had left the scene. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
On 4/4/25, at approximately 10:30 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the parking garage at the Ameristar Casino in reference to a Criminal Trespass of a Motor Vehicle. Upon arrival the officer was able to speak with the vehicle owner who stated that someone had entered his vehicle and stole his keys. The officer was attempting to identify two suspects that were seen in the area of the vehicle on 4/4/25, at approximately 4:04 a.m.
On 4/4/25, officers responded to the 200 block of Gregory Street to assist the Colorado Division of Gaming (CDOG). A suspect was arrested by CDOG agents on outstanding warrants and a report was completed.
On 4/4/25, at approximately 6:42 p.m., officers were dispatched to a cold sex assault at Ameristar Casino. The reporting party and victim were no longer on scene and requested contact by phone. The investigation is ongoing. After the investigation and consultation with the district attorney's office, no criminal charges were recommended.
On 4/4/25, at approximately 9:29 p.m., officers responded to the Ameristar parking garage on a report of a property damage vehicle accident. A driver was issued a summons and a report was completed.
On 4/5/25, at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a counterfeit bill. The bill was seized and a report was taken.
On 4/5/25, at approximately 3:18 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for displaying expired plates. The driver was issued a Gilpin County penalty assessment.
On 4/5/25, at approximately 4:26 p.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a possible theft. After investigation, it was discovered that theft had not occurred, and a lost property report had been completed.
On 4/5/25, at approximately 8:05 p.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of a physical disturbance. A party was transported to the hospital. Three parties received summonses. A report was completed.
On 4/5/25, at approximately 8:43 p.m., officers contacted a party at the Monarch Casino who had a felony warrant out of the Department of Corrections. The male was taken into custody and transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 4/5/25, at approximately 8:58 p.m., an officer responded to the Monarch garage on the report of an accident. The reporting party only requested a report and did not wish to file charges. The officer took all pertinent information and took a report.
On 4/5/25, at approximately 11:15 p.m., officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino on the report of found drugs. The drugs were seized, and a suspect was located. The suspect was issued a summons.
On 4/6/25, at approximately 1:10 a.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino Hotel on a report of a domestic disturbance. After investigation, a female suspect was arrested on Harassment and False Imprisonment with a Domestic Violence enhancer.
On 4/6/25, at approximately 2:27 a.m., officers responded to a potential physical disturbance at the Monarch Casino. Two parties were contacted and one was arrested on a protection order violation. A report was completed.
On 4/6/25, a Black Hawk Police officer responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of an intoxicated party. The subject was transported to the Jefferson Center for Mental Health for a welfare placement.
On 4/6/25, an officer was contacted at the police station regarding a hit-and-run traffic accident at the Ameristar Casino parking garage. The suspect was later contacted, and the case was closed.
On 4/6/25, at 3:50 p.m., officers observed a vehicle bearing no rear license plate at Highway 119 and Main Street, the driver was stopped and given a warning.
On 4/6/25, at approximately 7:40 p.m., officers initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle that ran a red light. The driver was contacted and was given a verbal warning.
On 4/6/25, at approximately 8:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to a possible stolen vehicle on level six of the Ameristar parking garage at 111 Richman Street. Once officers arrived, they were able to locate the vehicle on level four of the garage and determined it was not stolen.
On 4/6/25, officers responded to a report of lost property at 488 Main Street. Officers conducted an investigation and did not recover lost property. Surveillance is actively reviewing camera footage to locate the property.
On 4/6/25, officers responded to 111 Richman Street on a report of a physical disturbance. Officers conducted an investigation and discovered suspect information. Officers placed one party into custody and cleared the scene.
On 4/7/25, at approximately 2:14 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino at 111 Richman Street for a found wallet with drugs. When officers arrived, Ameristar security had all the property laid out. Officers saw approximately 14 small plastic baggies of different colored pills. Officers were told that the suspect was passed out on the 29th floor of the hotel. Officers arrived and called for medical, where the suspect was located by a hotel room. The suspect was taken to the hospital.
On 4/7/25, officers responded to 255 Main Street on a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking garage. Officers made contact with the occupants and discovered that one occupant was in possession of controlled substances. Officers issued a summons and cleared the scene.
On 4/7/25, at 2:58 p.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino located at 488 Main Street to meet with security after housekeeping had discovered a bag with possible narcotics. Upon further investigation, numerous zip lock bags containing cocaine were discovered inside a black bag. The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to identify any suspects involved in the incident.
On 4/7/25, at approximately 5:06 p.m., officers responded to a call regarding an unconscious and unresponsive male at 240 Main Street, the Lodge Casino. The male was pronounced deceased, and the coroner arrived and retrieved the body.
On 4/7/25, officers responded to 240 Main Street on the report of a fictitious identification card confiscated by security staff. The suspect was no longer on scene. Officers collected the ID card and cleared the scene.
On 4/7/25, at approximately 11:20 p.m., Black Hawk Police officers were dispatched on a report of theft at the Monarch Casino at 488 Main Street. Once officers arrived, they spoke with the victim, who was missing $290 and $100 in gift certificates. After the investigation, officers were able to locate the suspect at Lady Luck Casino's south parking lot at 340 Main Street. Officers arrested the suspect on warrants and took the suspect to Gilpin County Jail, where they were issued a summons for theft.
On 4/8/25, an officer responded to the Public Works building on the report of damage to a city-owned vehicle. The damage was sustained on 4/3/25, while the vehicle was driven on the Hidden Valley Pipeline Road in Gilpin County.
On 4/8/25, at 11:10 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a 2010 Green Kia Soul with no license plate. The Kia was observed at the intersection of Main Street and Miners Road. The registered owner and a female driver were contacted. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the Kia registration expired in January of 2025. The female driver was issued a penalty assessment.
On 4/9/25, at approximately 4 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino at 488 Main Street for a wallet theft. Officers arrived and spoke with the victim and surveillance personnel. Officers contacted the suspect at the Horseshoe Casino Hotel and issued a summons for theft.
On 4/9/25, at 11:22 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle after observing that the license plates were expired. The vehicle was observed going northbound on Highway 119 from mile marker 5.8. A male driver was contacted and issued a penalty assessment.
On 4/9/25, at approximately 6:20 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to utilize their turn signal. The officer later released the driver with a verbal warning.
On 4/9/25, at approximately 6:30 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with temporary tags that expired in February of 2011. The officer later released the driver with a citation.
On 4/9/25, at approximately 8:26 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was observed running a stop sign. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 4/9/25, at approximately 11:01 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for displaying a fictitious temporary tag. Upon investigation, the driver could not provide valid insurance and dispatch had no record on the temporary tag. The driver did not have a valid Colorado Drivers License. The driver was issued a summons and the fictitious temporary tag was seized.
On 4/10/25, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plate. Upon contact, the driver had no drivers license, no proof of insurance, and no registration. During contact with the driver, officers noticed drug paraphernalia in the back seat of the vehicle. Officers searched the vehicle and found more drug paraphernalia. The driver was issued a summons.
On 4/10/25, at approximately 3:34 a.m., officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino at 401 Main Street, on a report of a trespassed party. Upon investigation, the party is on the Black Hawk municipal exclusion list from all Black Hawk casinos. The female was issued a municipal summons.
On 4/10/25, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino at 111 Richman Street to assist medical personnel who had requested the police department.
On 4/10/25, at approximately 4:25 p.m., an officer took a cold harassment call. A follow-up was sent and this call is pending investigations.
On 4/10/25, at approximately 5:35 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an expired plate. Upon contact, the driver also did not have valid insurance for the vehicle. The driver was later released with a citation.
On 4/10/25, at approximately 6 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired plates. The officer later released the driver with a verbal warning.
On 4/11/25, officers responded to the Lodge Casino at 240 Main Street on a report of found drugs in a men's restroom. There is no suspect identification and the drugs were collected by officers and booked into evidence to be destroyed.
On 4/11/25, Black Hawk Police officers responded as cover for Gilpin County Sheriff's Office to the Gold Mountain Village Apartment Complex on Powder Run Drive, on a report of a disturbance.
On 4/11/25, at approximately 7:15 a.m., officers responded to a welfare check. No further information.
On 4/11/25, at approximately 3:48 p.m., while on patrol, an officer responded to a REDDI report at the Dakota Parking Lot, 245 Main Street. The report indicated that an intoxicated male was entering a red vehicle and was attempting to leave the area. The vehicle was located and stopped by an officer. The driver was arrested for DUI.
On 4/11/25, officers responded to a theft of alcohol at the Z Casino. A male was contacted and issued a summons for the theft and arrested on outstanding warrants.
On 4/11/25, officers conducted a traffic stop on northbound Highway 119 at mile marker 9.5 on a vehicle that was not maintaining the lane by crossing over the white solid line onto the shoulder. Upon contact, officers could not detect any signs of impairment. A verbal warning was issued.
On 4/11/25, at 9:12 p.m., officers were conducting a security check at Gregory Plaza located at 400 Gregory Street when they found two tools in the women's restroom. The items were collected and submitted as found property.
On 4/11/25, officers responded to the Red Dolly Casino at 530 Gregory Street on a report of an altercation. During investigation, officers reviewed surveillance footage and observed that no crime was committed.
On 4/12/25, officers responded to the Monarch Casino at 488 Main Street, on a report of a counterfeit bill with the suspect still on scene. Officers identified the suspect and took a report.
On 4/12/25, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of an intoxicated female party that was refusing to leave. The female party was transported to the hospital. A report was completed.
On 4/12/25, at approximately 6:07 a.m., officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino at 401 Main Street, for a report of an intoxicated party. The officers made contact with the female party and informed her she could not be on the gaming floor while intoxicated. The female party agreed to stay in her hotel room and sleep it off. No further actions were taken.
On 4/12/25, at approximately 7 a.m., an officer responded to a possible disturbance in progress on the first floor of the Saratoga parking garage. One subject was arrested for Harassment - Domestic Violence.
On 4/12/25, at approximately 10:27 a.m., officers responded to a welfare check at the Monarch Casino. The officer spoke with the male party and, based on his words and actions, deemed the party not a danger to himself and/or anyone else. No further action was taken.
On 4/12/25, at approximately 1:35 p.m., an officer responded to the Saratoga Casino on the report of drugs found. A suspect was issued a Gilpin County summons for possession.
On 4/12/25, at approximately 3:15 p.m., an officer on patrol was advised of a cold theft that had occurred on 2/16/25 at the Ameristar Casino. A report of a stolen Apple watch was taken over the telephone.
On 4/12/25, at approximately 4:40 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with plates that expired 12/24. Upon contact, the driver did not have a valid driver's license or insurance for the vehicle. The officer issued the driver a summons.
On 4/12/25, at approximately 5 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with plates that expired 1/24. The officer later released the driver with a citation.
On 4/12/25, officers responded to the Gilpin Casino VIP parking lot at 111 Main Street on a report of a hit and run. The suspect was identified but was not on scene. A report was taken, and an investigation is ongoing.
On 4/13/25, at approximately 11:14 p.m., the Black Hawk Police Department received a phone call from an unknown caller. The caller made abnormal comments and statements and hung up the phone. A report was taken for information.
On 4/13/25 at 3:20 a.m., officers responded to the Lady Luck Hotel, located at 333 Main Street, on a report of shots fired. Two individuals were detained and released after determining the 911 call was unfounded. A suspect was charged with falsely reporting an emergency and a separate suspect was arrested on a domestic violence charge observed on surveillance footage. A report was completed.
On 4/13/25, an officer investigated a call from the previous night. At the Monarch Casino, a male and female party spilled a liquid on another female, and the male was found to violate a protection order. The case is active.
On 4/13/25, at 12:20 p.m., officers patrolled the Dakota Lot at the Lodge Casino 245 Main Street, where they observed an older model tan Toyota Corolla with no visible license plate. The Corolla was occupied with one female. Officers conducted a welfare check on the female. After checking the female's well-being, a male party associated with the female arrived. Both parties were advised not to drive on city streets without proper registration or proof of insurance.
On 4/13/25, at 4:26 p.m., officers responded to the Monarch parking garage located at 488 Main Street on a reported hit-and-run incident that occurred. Upon arrival, officers found a damaged vehicle with no sign of the driver responsible for the collision. Surveillance footage was reviewed, but the suspects have yet to be identified. A report was taken, and the case is still active pending further leads.
On 4/13/25, at approximately 5:49 p.m., officers responded to 110 Main Street, the Bull Durham Casino, for a theft. The suspect was located, and a summons was issued.
On 4/13/25, at approximately 8:36 p.m., officers were dispatched to 245 Main Street for a traffic accident. Upon arrival, officers noticed the U-turn sign in the middle of the median had been hit. Officers located the vehicle at Lodge Casino valet parking at 240 Main Street. Officers spoke with the driver and issued him a summons.
On 4/13/25, officers responded to 120 Main Street on the report of a theft that took place on 4/12/25. Officers collected details to include victim and suspect information and cleared the scene. This is an ongoing investigation.
On 4/13/25, at approximately 11:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to a disturbance that occurred in the hotel elevators of the Monarch Casino at 488 Main Street. When officers arrived, they contacted the suspect and the victim. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested for Third Degree Assault and Domestic Violence.
On 4/14/25, at approximately 12:36 a.m., officers responded to 488 Main Street, the Monarch Casino, on a call of a male refusing to leave the casino. The male party left when officers arrived but was upset because he had lost his cell phone and the casino did not have it in lost and found.
On 4/14/25, at approximately 8 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119 at mile marker 5.8 to assist Gilpin County deputies. The stopped party was not the party the deputies were looking for, and they were released.
On 4/14/25, at 12:09 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle with an expired Colorado temporary tag traveling northbound on Highway 119 from mile marker 6. A male driver was contacted and could not provide proof of insurance. The male driver was issued a county summons for driving a vehicle with an expired temporary permit and failing to present proof of insurance.
On 4/14/25, at 12:24 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle with an obstructed rear license plate at the intersection of Richman Street and Highway 119. A female driver was contacted and was issued a penalty assessment.
On 4/14/25, at approximately 11:42 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at 111 Richman Street for failure to stop at a red light. Officers gave the driver a verbal warning.
On 4/15/25, at approximately 3:14 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Sasquatch Casino at 125 Gregory Street for a hit vehicle in the garage on level two. Once the officers arrived, they noticed a Cadillac Escalade that had been hit on the back passenger side bumper. Officers were unable to identify the suspect at the time, until the evening of the following day. The suspect was able to let Saratoga employees know of the incident. Officers had both parties exchange information.
On 4/15/25, at 4:46 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle run a red light at the intersection of Richman Street and Highway 119. A male driver was contacted and was issued a penalty assessment.
On 4/16/25, officers were dispatched to 111 Richman Street on the report of a disturbance in the hotel. Officers conducted a brief investigation and discovered that an assault had taken place. Officers made contact with the suspect and issued a summons.
On 4/16/25, a detective was made aware of an emailed threat that was sent to the Monarch Casino at 488 Main Street. The threat was directed towards an employee and threatened bodily harm to him and the casino. The case is still under investigation.
On 4/16/25, an officer responded to the Peak to Peak convenience store on the report of a noninjury accident between two vehicles. The parties exchanged information.
On 4/16/25, at 6:56 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for going over the posted speed limit on northbound Highway 119 from mile marker 6. A male was contacted, given a verbal warning, and told to slow down.
On 4/16/25, at approximately 7:20 p.m., officers pulled over a vehicle that was driving along Gregory and Highway 119, for expired vehicle registration. Upon contact, the driver informed officers they were waiting on their persons with disabilities license plate. Upon further discussion, the driver was unable to provide proof of insurance. The driver was cited for compulsory insurance. No additional actions were taken.
On 4/16/25, at 7:53 p.m., police responded to the Ameristar Hotel, located at 111 Richman Street, on the report of a welfare check. Ameristar security reported a loud argument between a couple inside one of their hotel rooms. Upon arrival, a female and a male couple were contacted. After conducting interviews, it was determined that no criminal activity had occurred. The situation was deemed verbal only, and officers cleared the scene without further incident.
On 4/16/25, at 10:52 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for displaying an expired license plate and following too closely at Highway 119 and Main Street. The driver was issued a verbal warning and a field interview report was completed.
On 4/17/25, at approximately 12:42 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Highway 119 and mile marker 5.8 for an improper lane change and weaving between lanes. Officers gave the driver a verbal warning.
On 4/17/25, at 1:19 a.m., an officer responded to the junction of Highway 6 and Highway 119 on the report of an injury accident. A report was completed.
On 4/17/25, officers were contacted in the police department lobby regarding a missing minor. Officers were advised that the parents of the missing child went to Adams County Sheriff's Office and filed a police report with them. Adams County Sheriff's Office entered the missing minor into CCIC and NCIC. The parents advised officers that the male that might have taken her works at the Horseshoe Casino at 401 Main Street. Officers conducted an investigation and gathered more information about the missing minor. A report was completed.
On 4/17/25, at approximately 3:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino located at 488 Main Street for a counterfeit bill. Officers confiscated the bill, and no further actions were taken.
On 4/17/25, around 6:55 p.m., officers observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot at 411 Gregory Street. Officers asked for a clearance on the South Dakota plate that was attached to a silver Nissan Sentra and it came back registered to a white BMW. Officers determined the plates were fictitious and collected them as evidence. The suspect was later contacted during a traffic stop in the silver Nissan, in the area of 340 Main Street, and given a summons.

The female party kept refusing to leave and then resisted while being escorted out. The female party was transported to the Gilpin County Jail. A report was completed.
On 4/19/25, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was reported as failing to maintain lanes. The driver was not under the influence and told the officer that his vehicle was having mechanical issues. The party advised he was going to park the vehicle and have it towed.

On 4/19/25, at 9:53 p.m., officers responded to Bally's West Casino, located at 261 Main Street, on a report of a physical disturbance in progress. A party was arrested on outstanding warrants, and a separate party was arrested on a domestic violence charge. A report was completed.
On 4/20/25, at 2:16 a.m., officers were flagged down by a party who wanted to report a theft occurring from their motor vehicle at the Lady Luck parking garage, located at 333 Main Street. The reporting party was arrested on outstanding warrants and received an additional charge for possession of a controlled substance. A report was completed and an investigation into the theft from the motor vehicle is ongoing.
On 4/20/25, at approximately 2:39 a.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino at 488 Main Street, on a report of an intoxicated party refusing to leave. Upon investigation, officers determined that there was a domestic violence altercation that occurred. A male was taken into custody for harassment with a domestic violence enhancer.
On 4/20/25, at about 6:55 a.m., a Black Hawk police officer assisted the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office deputy on a traffic stop on Highway 119 and mile marker 4. The driver was animated and agitated and the Black Hawk officer remained on scene to assist. The deputy issued the driver a summons, and the driver was released.
On 4/20/25, at approximately 8:56 a.m., an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of someone stealing money from a tips container. A suspect was identified, and the case was forwarded to the detectives.
On 4/20/25, at 11:15 a.m., officers responded to the Horseshoe Hotel located at 401 Main Street on a report of suspicious activity. Officers made contact with Horseshoe security officers who reported that a couple staying in a hotel room located a portable video camera device in their room. Officers took the video camera device and logged it into evidence. A report was also taken.
On 4/20/25, at 5:43 p.m., officers responded to the Gilpin Casino located at 111 Main Street for a welfare check. Officers made contact with an intoxicated female who was lying outside the south entrance door of the casino. The female was detained for her safety and transported to the police department, where she was later released to a sober party.
On 4/20/25, at approximately 7:50 p.m., officers responded to 240 Main Street for a found drug pipe. The pipe was booked into evidence to be destroyed.
On 4/21/25, at approximately 12:12 a.m., officers responded to a property theft at the Ameristar Casino. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who had his phone stolen off of the slot machine. After officers reviewed surveillance, a suspect was located, and the phone was recovered. The victim did not want to press charges.
On 4/21/25, officers were dispatched to 111 Richman Street on the report of a disturbance. When officers arrived, they discovered a domestic violence incident between two parties. Officers conducted an investigation and arrested the suspected party.

On 4/21/25, at 11:40 a.m., Black Hawk police officers assisted the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) with a traffic stop southbound on Highway 119 and mile marker 5. A female driver was confirmed to have an active warrant and was later placed in custody by the CSP.

When officers arrived, the suspect was already in the security office writing a witness statement. After investigation and watching surveillance, Officers wrote the suspect a summons for harassment.

On 4/22/25, at approximately 5:36 a.m., officers were dispatched to an unwanted party at the Ameristar Casino at 111 Richman Street, sitting at the bar on the first level. Once the officers arrived, they noticed an intoxicated female sitting at the bar talking to a random male party. While officers were trying to get the female back to her room, officers put the female into protective custody and called medical. After being evaluated by medical personnel, the female was escorted back to her hotel room.
On 4/22/25, at 4:34 p.m., the Black Hawk Police Department received an email stating that the male reporting party lost his wallet at the Monarch Casino, located at 488 Main Street, when he was in town. The male reporting party was contacted by phone, and a report was taken.
On 4/22/25, at 4:44 p.m., an officer responded to residential zone 1 regarding suspicious activity. The reporting party stated that a man in a truck stopped and talked to a child. The truck was located, and the male owner was contacted. Upon further investigation, officers determined that there was no probable cause that a crime occurred. A report was taken.
On 4/22/25, at approximately 10:49 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at 111 Richman Street, in the bus turnaround, for no headlights. Officers spoke with the driver who stated she knew she forgot to turn on her headlights. Officers gave the driver a verbal warning.
On 4/22/25, at approximately 10:47 p.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino Hotel at 111 Richman Street for inappropriate touching of a minor at the pool. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the father of the child and both kids. After the investigation, officers were able to determine the hotel room the suspect was in. After multiple attempts by officers to get in contact with the suspect, officers cleared and waited for the suspect to check out of the hotel. At approximately 5:14 a.m., officers were able to identify the suspect and issue a summons for harassment.
On 4/23/25, officers responded to level one of the Horseshoe Casino on a report of a female party slumped over inside a vehicle. The female party hit a caution pole, left the garage and travelled southbound on Highway 119. Officers did not contact the suspect or locate the vehicle. A report was completed.
On 4/23/25, at 11:23 a.m., officers were flagged down by a female party while patrolling northbound Highway 119 and mile marker 7. The female party stated that she was involved in a domestic dispute with her boyfriend that occurred outside the city of Black Hawk and asked about the process for a civil standby. The female party was referred to contact the agency in which she resides. A report was taken.
On 4/23/25, at approximately 6:30 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired plates. The officer later released the driver with a verbal warning.
On 4/23/25, at approximately 7:47 p.m., officers responded to 240 Main Street, the Lodge Casino, for a male party causing a disturbance. They asked the party to leave.

On 4/23/25, at approximately 9:46 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for displaying expired registration. The driver was issued a summons for expired registration and no proof of valid insurance.
On 4/23/25, at approximately 10:12 p.m., a Black Hawk Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with tags that had expired since 11/24. Upon contact, the vehicle actually expires on 11/25. However, the driver was unable to provide proof of insurance for the vehicle. The officer issued the driver a summons and gave the driver a QR code to scan and provide proof of insurance at a later date, if obtained, before a court appearance.
On 4/24/25, officers were approached by an intoxicated party making incoherent statements at 111 Richman Street, Ameristar Casino. Officers were then dispatched to 240 Main Street (Lodge Casino) for the same intoxicated party that had fallen and hit his head. Officers placed the male party into protective custody and transported him to detox.
On 4/24/25, officers contacted an occupied vehicle in the Monarch Casino parking garage at 488 Main Street for a welfare check. The individuals inside the vehicle were sleeping and no further actions were taken.
On 4/24/25, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration since 8/24. Upon making contact, the driver did not have an active registration card on them. Officers were advised that the vehicle does have an up-to-date vehicle registration of 8/25. A verbal warning was issued.

On 4/25/25, at 9:48 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for display of an expired temporary tag occurring on the 200 block of Main Street. The driver was issued a penalty assessment and a report was completed.
On 4/25/25, at approximately 10:14 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an unsafe U-turn. The vehicle was traveling southbound on Highway 119 when it stopped in the center median at mile marker 6. The vehicle's rear end was sticking out in southbound traffic, causing cars to honk and forcing them to go around. The vehicle then conducted a U-turn to go northbound, cutting northbound traffic off and almost causing an accident. Accidentally, I failed to turn my body-worn camera on, but another officer was out as cover and had his camera on. The driver was issued a municipal penalty assessment.
On 4/26/25, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of an unconscious but breathing male. The subject was later deemed heavily intoxicated and began to make suicidal and homicidal comments. The officer later placed him in protective custody and on an Mental Health 1 hold due to the comments.
On 4/26/25, at 1:12 a.m., an officer responded to the Lodge Casino, located at 240 Main Street, to take a report of a theft that had previously occurred. A suspect was identified and the investigation is ongoing.
On 4/26/25, at approximately 11:13 p.m., officers responded to the Z Casino parking lot at 101 Gregory Street, on a report of a possible overdose. Upon investigation, drugs were seized, and the male party was transported to the hospital by Gilpin Ambulance.
On 4/26/25, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of damaged property. A suspect was found and issued a municipal summons for the damaged property.

On 4/26/25, an officer responded to the Lodge Casino on the report of a stolen phone. Upon arrival and investigations, the officer was able to positively identify the suspect but no contact was made. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
On 4/26/25, at 9:45 p.m., officers responded to the Wild Card Casino, located at 120 Main Street, on a report of a counterfeit bill. The bill was seized and a report was completed.
On 4/27/25, at 12:55 a.m., officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino, located at 401 Main Street, to investigate a report of an apparently intoxicated party potentially carrying a firearm. A suspect was contacted and the complaint was unfounded. A report was completed.
On 4/27/25, at approximately 1:02 a.m., officers were on scene of an intoxicated party at Horseshoe Casino, at 401 Main Street, when they were advised of a domestic disturbance that was occurring on the Horseshoe/Lady Luck skybridge. Upon investigation, the assault occurred in the Lady Luck parking garage, 333 Main Street. The victim was transported to the hospital with strangulation injuries, and a suspect was tracked down and placed into custody on several charges.
On 4/27/25, at 1:57 a.m., officers responded to Monarch Casino, 488 Main Street, on a welfare check. There was a subject contacted in his hotel room and officers determined that the subject needed to go to the hospital for a mental health evaluation. The subject was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
On 4/27/25, at 3:30 a.m., officers responded to the Wild Card Casino, 120 Main Street, on a fraud. Officers arrived and prior to making contact, checked the suspect's information which confirmed he had a felony warrant. Gilpin deputies responded to cover and the suspect was placed into custody and transported to the Gilpin County Jail. The fraud is being investigated.
On 4/27/25, officers responded to the Monarch Casino at 488 Main Street, on a report of an unconscious male party found in the restroom. Officers administered multiple doses of Narcan before he regained consciousness. Medics evaluated the male, and he refused further medical assistance.
On 4/27/25, at 11 a.m., officers were notified of a male with numerous warrants in the city. The wanted male was later located at the Monarch Casino, 488 Main Street, and taken into custody without incident.
On 4/27/25, at 4:33 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Lodge Casino, located at 240 Main Street, regarding a male party in the creek. Officers contacted a male and performed a welfare check. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the male was gold mining in the creek and was released.
On 4/27/25, at 5:07 p.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino, located at 488 Main Street, regarding a missing cell phone that was later confirmed to have been stolen. A report was taken.
On 4/28/25, Black Hawk Police officers were dispatched to 401 Main Street on the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers discovered there was a verbal argument between two parties. Officers investigated and discovered nothing criminal had taken place. Both parties were separated.
On 4/28/25, at approximately 5:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to a trespass at the Ameristar Casino, 111 Richman Street. When officers arrived, they spoke with both parties. After the investigation, the parties were split up, and the female party was allowed to go back to their hotel room by Ameristar security; the male party stayed on the casino floor.
On 4/28/25, at about 8 a.m., officers responded to the area of the 330 block of Main Street on two males who were fighting. The males were contacted, and one of the males fled on foot. Officers pursued the male and arrested him at the Lodge Casino. The male who ran had numerous active arrest warrants. The male that remained on scene was issued a summons for Disorderly Conduct. The male subject who ran from the police was arrested and detained at the Gilpin County Jail.
On 4/29/25, at approximately 7:20 a.m., an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of stolen money. A suspect was identified and will be contacted and issued a summons. The case remains open.
On 4/28/25, at about 10 a.m., officers responded to a suspicious incident at the Lodge Casino Hotel at 240 Main Street. Security smelled a strong odor or what they believed was an illegal narcotic coming from the room. An officer arrived while the tenants were evicted and trespassed. The origin of the smell was unknown and it did not smell like an illegal narcotic. One of the tenants claimed to have a medical issue with their feet which could have caused the odor.
On 4/28/25, at 10:42 a.m., police were notified by a reporting party stating that someone used their banking information to withdraw large amounts of money at the Ameristar Casino located at 111 Richman St. The reporting party was no longer in the city, and a report was taken over the phone.
On 4/28/25, at 12:18 p.m., the Black Hawk Emergency Communications center at 221 Church Street received a suspicious phone call from a male caller. The male caller called the non-emergency line but didn't state that he had any emergency. A report was taken.
On 4/28/25, at approximately 10:38 p.m., an officer responded to 120 Main Street, the Wild Card Casino, on a report of a casino patron who had fallen. I determined that the incident occurred on the Wild Card Casino's property.
On 4/28/25, at approximately 10:57 p.m., officers responded to 401 Main Street, the Horseshoe Casino, for a welfare report. The male casino patron fell out of his seat, hit his head, and was later transported to the hospital.
On 4/29/25, at 5:52 p.m., a male party called 911 and claimed to be suicidal. Officers were able to locate the male party on the west side of the Dakota parking lot located at 130 Main Street. The male party agreed voluntarily to go with Gilpin Ambulance medics and was later transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance to seek mental health treatment.
On 4/29/25, at approximately 7:51 p.m., officers responded to 401 Main Street, the Horseshoe Casino, for a trespass. The female patron was asked to leave the Lady Luck Casino, and she then went to the Horseshoe Casino, not knowing that the same person owned both casinos. The female was issued a permanent trespass notice and asked not to return.
On 4/30/25, at approximately 4:09 p.m., officers responded to 340 Main Street, the Lady Luck Casino, for a lost dog in the casino. The dog was reunited with the owner, who said the dog jumped out of their motorhome and ran away.
On 4/30/25, an officer conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle that failed to yield to Main Street traffic while pulling out of the Monarch Casino parking garage. The driver was released on a warning.
On 4/30/25, at approximately 9:04 p.m., officers were dispatched for a possible trespass at the Ameristar Casino, 111 Richman Street. When officers arrived, the suspect needed medical attention since she stated she couldn't feel the left side of her body. Officers contacted medical, and she was transported to the hospital.
