Black Hawk Police Report, August 2025
On 8/1/25, at approximately 12:25 a.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Main Street for changing lanes where prohibited by official traffic control device. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 8/1/25, at approximately 1:27 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle with an expired temporary tag for 3/25 traveling southbound on Highway 119 and mile marker 6. The driver was contacted, who provided a summons issued by the Colorado State Patrol earlier this evening for the same issue. Because of this, the driver was issued a verbal warning, and a field interview report was completed.
On 8/1/25, at approximately 3:33 a.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino for a 911 hang-up and a possible assault. During the investigation, officers contacted a male party in the hotel lobby. The male party was bleeding from his head. The male party got in a physical altercation with his girlfriend in a room. After the investigation, the female party was taken into custody for third-degree assault and domestic violence.
On 8/1/25, at approximately 5:48 a.m., officers were dispatched to The Lodge Casino in report of a suspected found drugs call. The suspect is unidentified, case is ongoing.
On 8/1/25, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that went straight from a right turn-only lane at the intersection of Miners Road and Main Street. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 8/1/25, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a parked vehicle being hit by the Ramblin Bus. A report was taken, and is still active.
On 8/1/25, at approximately 12:29 p.m., a Black Hawk Police officer conducted an investigation for a wallet theft. The officer was able to obtain descriptors of the suspect but was unable to identify them. A report was taken.
On 8/1/25, at approximately 5:42 p.m., officers observed a vehicle with no license plate travelling on Highway 119 at mile marker 6. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at the intersection of Highway 119 and Richman Street. Upon contact, the driver did not have any documentation for the vehicle. A summons was issued.
On 8/1/25, at approximately 6:54 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an expired temporary tag. The driver was issued a Gilpin County penalty assessment.
On 8/1/25, officers observed a vehicle travelling on Highway 119 with expired registration tags of 4/24. Upon contact, the driver showed proof of insurance but no registration. A summons was issued.
On 8/1/25, at approximately 8:42 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for going straight in a turn-only lane and running a stop sign. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 8/1/25, at approximately 8:44 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Main Street and Miners Mesa Road for a driver who was in the turn lane to go south on Main Street. The driver proceeded not to turn and go straight onto Miners Mesa Road without using a turn signal to change lanes. The driver was issued a warning.
On 8/1/25, at approximately 8:52 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to use their turn signal on Highway 119 and Miners Road. The driver was issued a verbal warning, and no further actions were taken.
On 8/1/25, at approximately 9:09 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving on Highway 119 and mile marker 5.8 with no number plate attached. Upon contact, the driver did not have insurance. The driver was issued a summons.
On 8/1/25, at approximately 9:45 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle traveling westbound on Main Street from the Monarch Casino without its headlights on. The officer also observed that the vehicle had an expired Colorado license plate for 3/25. The driver was contacted, and upon further investigation, the driver didn't have a valid driver's license. The driver was issued a Gilpin County penalty assessment, and a report was completed.
On 8/1/25, at approximately 10:56 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for making a turn where prohibited, weaving, and going straight from a turn-only lane. Officers conducted roadside maneuvers and determined negative DUI. The driver was issued a summons.
On 8/2/25, at approximately 10:41 p.m., an officer was informed about a theft at the Horseshoe Hotel. The victim of the theft was no longer in the city and was later contacted by phone. A report was completed, and an investigation is ongoing.
On 8/2/25, at approximately 12:13 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Highway 119 and mile marker 5.8 for a vehicle failure to stay in a single lane going southbound on Highway 119, the driver failed to use their turn signals and was using their mobile device. The driver was issued a summons for not having a valid driver's license and using a mobile electronic device while operating a motor vehicle.
On 8/2/25, at approximately 2:24 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle near Highway 119 and Main Street with expired registration. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was given a summons.
On 8/2/25, at approximately 4:57 a.m., a Black Hawk police officer conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle with an expired temporary license traveling westbound from the intersection of Gregory and Main Street. The driver was contacted, and it was later determined that their license was suspended. The driver was told not to drive and was issued a Gilpin County Penalty Assessment. A field interview report was completed.
On 8/2/25, at approximately 8:20 a.m., officers received a call for a welfare check of a family member. The party was located at Bally's West. The party was contacted, and welfare was checked.
On 8/2/25, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of a found firearm in a hotel room. The firearm was collected. A report was taken.
On 8/2/25, at approximately 5:31 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired plates. Upon investigation, the driver could not provide officers with current, valid insurance. The driver was issued a Gilpin County Summons.
On 8/2/25, officers observed a vehicle travelling northbound on Highway 119 with expired registration tags of 7/24. Officers conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle at the 400 block of Main Street. Upon contact, the driver did not show immediate proof of insurance. The Colorado License plate bearing AWK-Q45 was registered to a Silver 2017 Nissan, which did not match the vehicle the officers conducted a traffic stop on. The vehicle that the officers conducted a traffic stop on was a 2019 Hyundai Tucson. Officers confiscated the license plate AWK-Q45 for evidence. A report was taken.
On 8/2/25, at approximately 7:28 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle with Virginia plates that had expired registration. The officer initiated a traffic stop at Hidden Treasure Trailhead and after verifying the driver's information, gave him a verbal warning.
On 8/2/25, at approximately 8:46 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Gilpin Casino on a report of a stolen phone. Upon investigation, the suspect was tracked down, and the phone was returned to the victim.
On 8/2/25, at approximately 10:19 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Hotel and Casino in response to a possible domestic dispute. After further investigation, it was determined that an assault had occurred. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office.
On 8/2/25, at approximately 12:59 a.m., officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino regarding a guest using someone else's ID on the gaming floor. Upon further investigation, a victim was contacted who didn't want to press charges. A report was taken.
On 8/3/25, at approximately 12 a.m., Black Hawk police officers responded to the Lodge Casino regarding a welfare check on an individual who made suicidal statements to security. The individual was contacted, and a M1 72-hour Mental Health hold was issued upon further investigation. The individual was then transported to an area hospital by ambulance. A report was completed.
On 8/3/25, at approximately 1:39 p.m., officers were dispatched to a trespass at the Monarch. The suspect walked to the Horseshoe where he was contacted. The Monarch didn't want the suspect cited. The suspect left with a warning.
On 8/3/25, at approximately 5:06 a.m., Black Hawk police officers responded to the Ameristar Casino regarding a welfare check. Once on scene, officers came into contact with two individuals and determined that a domestic dispute took place. Upon further investigation, a primary aggressor was determined and taken into custody, later being transported to the Gilpin County Jail. A report was completed.
On 8/3/25, an officer was issued a cold-damaged property report that occurred at the Lodge Casino. A suspect was identified and contacted to be issued a summons for criminal mischief.
On 8/3/25, an officer from the Black Hawk Police Department took a phone report on lost property from a backpack. The reporting party informed officers that her backpack was returned, but some of its contents were missing. This case will remain active for further investigation.
On 8/3/25, officers responded to the Monarch Casino regarding a theft of merchandise. The suspect and theft were observed by Monarch security through their surveillance system. The suspect was later contacted, and a municipal summons was issued for theft.
On 8/3/25, officers responded to the Ameristar regarding a missing cell phone. The report was taken, and the phone was later recovered by Ameristar staff. The owner was contacted to let them know to get the phone from Ameristar Security.
On 8/3/25, while on patrol at the Ameristar parking garage, officers contacted a suspicious vehicle playing loud music. The vehicle had three occupants, all were released without citation.
On 8/3/25, officers conducted a traffic stop for unreadable license plates. Officers discovered that the driver had a warrant for his arrest. Officers took the driver into custody without incident.
On 8/3/25, at approximately 9:25 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to display tail lamps and display of an expired license plate occurring at Highway 119 and Main Street. The driver was given a verbal warning and a field interview report was completed.
On 8/3/25, officers investigated a report of Damaged Property that occurred at 340 Main Street. After conducting interviews, it was discovered that no damaged property had occurred.
On 8/4/25, officers conducted a traffic stop on Miners and Main Streets. Officers issued a warning for driving behavior and cleared the scene.
On 8/4/25, at approximately 3:41 a.m., officers contacted a suspicious vehicle at the Hidden Treasure Trailhead, located at 8060 Highway 119. Occupants were advised of the camping ordinance and a field interview report was completed.
On 8/4/25, officers stopped a vehicle whose license plates came back stolen. Officers stopped the vehicle at Highway 119 and Clear Creek Boulevard. Upon investigating, the plates were entered into law enforcement databases incorrectly by another law enforcement agency. The driver was released, and the other agency was notified.
On 8/4/25, officers observed a driver make an illegal turn from Miners Mesa Road onto Main Street, crossing over two lanes from the far turning lane. The driver was stopped at the Horseshoe Casino, was issued a warning, and released.
On 8/4/25, officers assisted the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office in locating a suicidal party that was reported by the Wheat Ridge Police Department to be in the area. The party was located on Highway 119. The party's welfare was checked and did not meet mental health hold criteria and was released.
On 8/4/25, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino and Hotel on a report of a heavily intoxicated guest. The party was transported to the hospital by Gilpin Ambulance for observation and detox.
On 8/4/25, at approximately 11:43 p.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino, located at 111 Richman Street, on a report of a counterfeit bill. The bill was seized and a report was completed.
On 8/5/25, at approximately 3:29 a.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino, located at 488 Main Street, on a report of a theft of property. A report was completed.
On 8/5/25, officers responded to the Lady Luck Casino regarding a party in the room going through a mental health crisis. The guest was transported by Gilpin County Ambulance to the hospital for treatment.
On 8/5/25, officers assisted the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office with a suicidal person with a gun call in Central City’s Big T parking lot. The party was not armed when the officers arrived and contacted the party. The party was taken to the hospital by Gilpin County Ambulance for mental health treatment.
On 8/6/25, Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle without plates driving on the roadway. Officers conducted a traffic stop and issued a verbal warning.
On 8/6/25, at approximately 1:41 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for display of expired license plates occurring at 6100 Highway 119. The driver was issued a warning and a field interview report was completed.
On 8/6/25, Black Hawk officers responded to a report of found drugs at 240 Main Street. Officers spoke with persons involved and are actively investigating to locate a suspect.
On 8/6/25, at approximately 9:39 a.m., public works turned in a wallet that was located by a patron in the Ameristar garage located at 111 Richman Street. The owner was contacted and the property was returned.
On 8/6/25, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that crossed oncoming traffic unsafely. The driver was given a warning.
On 8/6/25, at approximately 12:10 p.m., officers observed a vehicle with no front license plate and missing rear plate tabs in the 500 block of Main Street. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 8/6/25, at approximately 12:42 p.m., officers observed a vehicle with a tinted license plate cover at the intersection of Miners and Highway 119. The driver was stopped and found to have two extraditable warrants. The driver was taken into custody and a citation was also issued.
On 8/6/25, an officer from the Black Hawk Police Department collected a found passport. The passport was collected and booked into evidence for safekeeping.
On 8/6/25, an officer from the Black Hawk police department was dispatched to the Lodge Casino hotel, regarding a possible substance found in a dollar bill. The amount was not enough to test. The dollar bill was collected and booked into evidence for destruction.
On 8/6/25, at approximately 5 p.m., officers observed a vehicle travelling northbound Highway 119 with expired registration tags of 7/24. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at the 500 block of Main Street. Upon contact, the driver handed officers appropriate documentation. A summons was issued.
On 8/6/25, Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle travelling southbound Highway 119 at mile marker 6, with an expired Colorado temporary tag of 7/25. The officers conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle at mile marker 5.8. Upon contact, the driver showed me an updated Colorado temporary tag that was located in the front windshield. The driver was advised to change the old temporary tag with the new one. A verbal warning was issued.
On 8/6/25, at approximately 6 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired plates. The driver was issued a Gilpin County penalty assessment.
On 8/6/25, at approximately 10:27 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for going straight in a turn-only lane. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 8/6/25, at approximately 10:50 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no license plate displayed occurring at Highway 119 and Main Street. The driver was given a verbal warning and a field interview report was completed.
On 8/6/25, Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle travelling east on Main Street and turning right onto southbound Highway 119 with no head lights. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at the Coyote Motel. Upon contact, the driver handed officers appropriate documentation. A verbal warning was issued.
On 8/6/25, at approximately 11:08 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic signal violation and u-turn where prohibited, occurring at Highway 119 and Gregory Street. The driver was issued a summons and a report was completed.
On 8/6/25, at approximately 11:13 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle with no headlights at Highway 119 and mile marker 5.8. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 8/6/25, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a broken passenger headlight. The driver had a suspended license and did not have proof of insurance. The driver was issued a summons and proof of service.
On 8/7/25, Black Hawk officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of found drugs. Officers collected the supposed controlled substance to the police department to test it. After testing the controlled substance, it came back clear for baking soda.
On 8/7/25, at approximately 2:40 a.m., a Black Hawk police officer conducted a traffic stop after observing a southbound vehicle on Highway 119 and mile marker 6 with an expired Colorado temporary tag of 7/25. The driver was contacted and issued a Gilpin County Penalty Assessment. A field interview report was completed.
On 8/7/25, at approximately 4:56 a.m., Black Hawk police responded to the Lodge Casino located at 240 Main Street in reference to casino staff finding a bag with a white powdery substance. The white powdery substance was later determined to be a positive narcotic, and a suspect was later located at the Horseshoe Hotel. A report was completed.
On 8/7/25, officers responded to the Lodge Casino located at 240 Main Street on the report of a damaged slot machine. A suspect has been identified.
On 8/7/25, officers received a call for an unconscious breathing party at the Dakota Lot, 245 Main Street. The party's welfare was checked.
On 8/7/25, officer safety information was provided on a male subject that is known to gamble frequently in Black Hawk. This is an informational report only.
On 8/7/25, officers located a ring on the floor at the Police Department. An email was sent out, and we were able to identify the owner of the ring. The ring was booked into safekeeping.
On 8/7/25, at approximately 4:48 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an expired temporary tag. The driver was issued a verbal warning
On 8/7/25, Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle travelling northbound Highway 119 with expired registration tags of 9/24. Officers conducted a traffic stop on that vehicle at the entrance to Horseshoe Casino parking garage that is off of Miners Road. Upon contact, the driver did not have proof of insurance or registration. A summons was issued.
On 8/7/25, at approximately 5:56 p.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to a suspect with a possible warrant at the Gilpin Casino located at 111 Main Street. An investigator with the Division of Gaming also responded to assist. The suspect was seen outside of Sasquatch where she was contacted and arrested. The suspect complained of a medical concern and was transported to the hospital for a clearance and later taken to Gilpin County Jail.
On 8/7/25, at approximately 6 p.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to a traffic complaint for speeding at 531 Chase Street. Upon arrival, officers found the car unoccupied, parked in front of the gate at the Maryland Knot Trailhead. After further investigations, officers were able to contact the driver and issued the driver a summons for careless driving.
On 8/7/25, at approximately 10 p.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino 488 Main Street for a civil stand by. The property was returned, and no further action was taken.
On 8/8/25, at approximately 12:12 a.m., Black Hawk police officers responded to the Ameristar Casino, located at 111 Richman Street, to help an elderly person locate their vehicle in the parking garage. The vehicle was located, and the elderly person was reunited with her vehicle. A field interview report was completed.
On 8/8/25, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle not equipped with head lamps as required. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 8/8/25, at approximately 1:35 a.m., Black Hawk police officers responded to the Bull Durham Casino located at 110 Main Street to assist the Colorado Division of Gaming contact a suspect. The suspect was contacted and released pending an ongoing investigation by the Division of Gaming.
On 8/8/25, at approximately 4:21 a.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling south bound Highway 119 and Gregory Street for disregarding a traffic control device. Upon contact, the driver was unable to provide insurance on request. The driver was issued a municipal summons.
On 8/8/25, between 12 and 8:30 a.m., a male party lost his cell phone at the Lady Luck Casino. A report was made and surveillance operators are reviewing video.
On 8/8/25, officers took a phone report from the Monarch Casino regarding a check that was fraudulently cashed. A report was taken and the case is ongoing.
On 8/8/25, at approximately 3:44 p.m., a Black Hawk police officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of found property in a hotel room. The lost property was a gun, and upon investigation, the officer discovered a substantial amount of illegal drugs. Two suspects were identified, the drugs were seized, and investigations are pending.
On 8/8/25, at approximately 7 p.m., a Black Hawk police officer conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle with an expired license plate (6/25) at Highway 119 and Main Street. The driver was contacted and issued a verbal warning. A field interview report was completed.
On 8/8/25, at approximately 10:46 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 119 and mile marker 6 with no number plates attached. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 8/8/25, at approximately 10:17 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop at 300 Main Street for a vehicle with an expired temporary tag (3/25). The driver was issued a summons for the expired temporary tag.
On 8/8/25, at approximately 10:26 p.m., a Black Hawk police officer conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle with an expired Colorado temporary tag (3/25) traveling northbound on Highway 119 and mile marker 6. The driver was contacted and issued a Gilpin County Penalty Assessment. A field interview report was completed.
On 8/8/25, at approximately 10:46 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop at 5312 Highway 119 for an expired temporary tag (5/25). The driver was issued a summons for the expired temporary tag and for not having insurance.
On 8/8/25, at approximately 11:12 p.m., a Black Hawk officer observed a vehicle travelling on Main Street at Richman. The vehicle had no stop lights when stopped for the red traffic light and had expired plates (5/25). A traffic stop was initiated in front of Horseshoe Casino and the driver was issued a summons for expired registration.
On 8/8/25, at approximately 11:07 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling northbound on Main Street without headlights. Upon making contact, the officers suspected the driver of being under the influence and after further investigation, arrested them.
On 8/8/25, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino, to assist with the Department of Gaming. Officers provided transport for Gaming first to the Gilpin County Jail, then for a medical clearance to Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital at 12911 West 40th Avenue. After the medical clearance, officers transported the suspect to Jefferson County Detention Facility at 200 Jefferson County Parkway, Golden.
On 8/9/25, at approximately 10:25 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for headlamps required. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 8/9/25, at approximately 12:20 a.m., a Black Hawk police officer conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle traveling on Richman Street with an expired license plate (5/25). The driver was contacted, who stated they didn't have a driver's license. The driver was issued a Gilpin County Summons.
On 8/9/25, at approximately 3:56 a.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino for a theft of property. The case is currently active.
On 8/9/25, at approximately 5:16 a.m., Black Hawk police officers responded to the Ameristar Casino regarding a disturbance on the gaming floor. Upon further investigation, it was determined that one person shoved another before they both separated. All parties involved were contacted; no one was injured, nor did they want to file charges. A report was completed.
On 8/9/25, at approximately 11:37 a.m, a Black Hawk police officer took a report regarding a hit-and-run at the Black Hawk Police Department. The hit-and-run occurred at the Horseshoe Casino. No suspects were located or identified. A report was taken.
On 8/9/25, at approximately 11:34 a.m., officers received a Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately (REDDI) report. The driver was contacted at Highway 119 and Richman Street and roadside maneuvers were completed. No impairment was detected. The driver was cleared with a verbal warning for careless driving.
On 8/9/25, at approximately 4:13 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop at the Horseshoe garage for a vehicle that didn't stop at the stop sign on Bobtail Road and Miners Mesa Road. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 8/25, at approximately 10:41 p.m., a Black Hawk police officer conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle at the Minor and Main intersection without its headlights. The driver was contacted and, upon further investigation, was determined not to be intoxicated. The driver was given a verbal warning, and a field interview report was completed.
On 8/9/25, at approximately 8:39 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to the vehicle traveling with a flat right front tire. The vehicle continued and eventually lost almost all of its rubber and was driving on the rim. The driver was issued a municipal penalty assessment.
On 8/9/25, at approximately 9:03 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop at 5312 Highway 119 for a vehicle that had a fictitious plate. The driver was issued a summons for failure to present evidence of insurance upon request, operating a motor vehicle with expired plates, and displaying fictitious plates. The plate was confiscated.
On 8/9/25, at approximately 9:36 p.m., Black Hawk officers responded to the Lodge Casino to cover the Division of Gaming Investigators who were in contact with a suspect. The suspect was released by Gaming after they conducted their investigation.
On 8/9/25, at approximately 9:40 p.m., the Black Hawk Emergency Communications Center received two 911 calls regarding a possible intoxicated driver traveling west on Main Street. Officers located the vehicle as it was pulling into the Dakota Lot at 245 Main Street. A driver was contacted and, upon further investigation, deemed to be intoxicated. The driver was issued a Gilpin County summons and was later released to a sober party.
On 8/10/25, at approximately 3:07 a.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to Bally's North Casino for a disturbance. Upon further investigation, officers arrested one subject, and they were transported to the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office.

On 8/13/25, an officer observed an abandoned vehicle with a trailer on Highway 119 at mile marker 6.1. Officers cleared both the car and the trailer, which had no license plates. The vehicle was not reported stolen, but the trailer was reported stolen out of another agency. The trailer was towed, and the car was tagged as abandoned. No suspect information at this time.

They found a suspicious vehicle on level 7 backed into a spot with no front license plate and a sun visor covering the front windshield. Upon further investigation, the officer found an individual sleeping in the back. The individual was contacted and advised about sleeping in their vehicle. A field interview report was completed.
On 8/14/25, officers received a call from the Z-Casino regarding credit cards found by a plumber in the toilet. Due to hazmat concerns, they were advised to take photos and dispose of the cards appropriately. Photos of the cards were collected and a report taken.

On 8/16/25, at approximately 5:05 p.m., Black Hawk officers were on routine patrol near mile marker 5.8 on Highway 119, when they were advised of a hit and run. The run vehicle continued southbound on Highway 119, and officers spoke with the driver of the vehicle that was hit. Officers discovered that it was just a property damage crash, and a report was taken.

On 8/17/25, at approximately 1:09 a.m., Black Hawk police officers responded to the Horseshoe parking garage, regarding a hit-and-run accident that occurred on level 2. The victim was contacted; however, the suspect and suspect vehicle were unable to be located. A report was taken.
On 8/17/25, at approximately 1:51 a.m., a Black Hawk police officer conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle at the intersection of Main Street and Richman without its headlamps on. On 8/18/25, at approximately 4:21 p.m., Black Hawk police officers responded to 340 Main Street, the Lady Luck parking lot, on a call about a vehicle being hit. The driver of the vehicle was issued a Gilpin County summons for not having valid insurance in the vehicle.
On 8/18/25, officers received a Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately (REDDI) report from the Lodge Casino. Officers located the vehicle and were able to stop the driver. Roadside tests were conducted, and the driver failed the tests. The officers were able to establish probable cause to arrest the driver.
On 8/18/25, an officer took a police report for found illegal narcotics at the Monarch Casino. With assistance from surveillance, the suspect that dropped the illegal narcotics was identified and a summons was issued.

On 8/24/25, at approximately 11:48 p.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino for an unwanted intoxicated male party near the poker room. After the investigation, security trespassed the male party. Officers escorted the male party to collect his belongings from the hotel room. After gathering the male party's belongings, officers escorted the male party to the bus stop at the Horseshoe Casino. Due to the timing of the bus, officers gave the male a courtesy ride.
On 8/24/25, at approximately 1:50 a.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino for a report of a hit and run in the garage. The case is currently under investigation.
On 8/24/25, at approximately 3:24 a.m., Black Hawk officers responded to a disturbance involving two parties at the Ameristar Casino. Following further investigation, one individual was taken into custody and transported to the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office.
On 8/24/25, at approximately 3:47 a.m., Black Hawk police officers responded to the Ameristar Casino regarding a $5 bill found on the gaming floor with a white powdery substance inside. The unknown substance was later determined to be a controlled substance narcotic. A suspect was later found, identified, and was issued a Gilpin County summons. A report was completed.
On 8/24/25, at approximately 4:03 a.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to a REDDI report on a vehicle leaving the Ameristar garage. Officers had prior contact with the driver, who had admitted that he had been drinking and was told by officers to sober up before driving. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the Horseshoe garage. Officers conducted roadside tests on the driver and determined that the driver was ok to drive.
On 8/24/25, an officer from the Black Hawk Police Department responded to the Monarch Casino regarding a trespassing party on the property. The casino manager did not want to press charges, and the male left the property.
On 8/24/25, at approximately 7:50 p.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop in the 500 block of Main Street for a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed. The driver was released with a warning and educated on the speed limit.
On 8/24/25, officers observed a vehicle driving with no lights on after sundown. The driver was a minor on a learning permit and forgot to turn lights on; driver was released with a warning.
On 8/24/25, at approximately 11:30 p.m., an officer completed a traffic stop on a vehicle that was traveling southbound on Highway 119. The vehicle was paced and a visual estimate was at 45 MPH in a posted 35 MPH zone. The subject received a warning.
On 8/25/25, at approximately 12:48 a.m., Black Hawk police officers conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle traveling eastbound on Gregory Street from 530 Gregory Street with an expired Colorado temporary tag (7/24). The driver was contacted and issued a penalty assessment. A field interview report was completed.
On 8/25/25, officers observed a driver turn onto Richman Street from Highway 119, cutting off a vehicle that had the right of way. The driver was issued a warning and released.

Upon investigation the plates came back registered to another vehicle and were confiscated as evidence. The driver was released on a summons for fictitious plates, no proof of insurance and displaying expired registration.
On 8/26/25, officers observed the driver driving down Highway 119 without any taillights on. Officers stopped the driver at the Coyote Motel. The driver didn't know he was driving without them and turned them on. The driver received a warning and was released.
On 8/26/25, a female party came to the police department because she missed court and wanted to know if she had any warrants. Upon clearing her name by officers, she came back with an out-of-county warrant on an unrelated case. She was taken into custody and transported to the Gilpin County Jail on the outside warrant without issues.
On 8/26/25, an officer from the Black Hawk police department was conducting a patrol area check at the Lady Luck garage, level 7, when a fictitious plate was located on an unoccupied vehicle. The officer seized the plate and booked it into evidence.
On 8/26/25, an officer from the Black Hawk Police Department responded to the Hearts and Legends shop on the report of a theft that had occurred two hours prior to it being reported. The case remains active for further investigation.
On 8/26/25 at approximately 2:35 p.m., Black Hawk officers responded to 7240 Black Hawk Boulevard for a suspicious vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was contacted and given a warning for not having plates on the vehicle.
On 8/26/25, officers responded to the Lady Luck Casino regarding a male party using a bench to break the windows out of a pedestrian walkway. The suspect was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief (damage between $5000 to $2000) and Obstructing a Peace Officer. He was taken to the Gilpin County Jail under the name of John Doe. He was later identified and was held on the charges.
On 8/26/25, at approximately 8 p.m., officers responded to the Grand Z Casino on a report of a physical disturbance. The officers assisted a Division of Gaming officer make an arrest of a female on Casey Street across from the Grand Z. Due to another call, the initial officers both cleared after Gilpin County deputies arrived to handle the investigation.
On 8/27/25, Black Hawk officers were dispatched to 488 Main Street on a report of a theft that occurred at the gift shop. Dispatch advised that the theft happened at 9:14 p.m., and the male suspect had since left the property. Officers searched the area and made contact with the suspect, and issued a summons. The suspect was released.
On 8/27/25, at approximately 2 a.m., an officer contacted a vehicle in the Lady Luck parking garage. The female in the vehicle was asleep and not in need of assistance. No actions taken.
On 8/27/25, an officer observed a vehicle driving without taillights and displaying expired registration during sundown. Officers stopped the vehicle and it was determined that the driver just purchased the vehicle recently and was in the process of getting it registered. The owner was given a verbal warning for displaying fictitious plates and expired registration. The plate was confiscated and logged into evidence.
On 8/27/25, Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle travelling northbound Highway 119 with expired registration tags (12/24). Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle at the intersection of Miners Road and Main Street. A verbal warning was issued.
On 8/27/25, officers observed a delivery driver parking the wrong way at the bus turn around located at Richman Street near the Ameristar. Officers contacted the driver to have him move his vehicle so buses could safely pass. The driver was given a verbal warning.
On 8/27/25, Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of an intoxicated party who was being aggressive to casino staff. Black Hawk officers arrived on scene and the casino staff allowed the male party to stay in his hotel room. The male party was trespassed from the casino and went to his room for the night.
On 8/28/25, Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle traveling on the roadway with no visible license plates. Officers conducted a traffic stop and discovered temporary plates posted on the back window. Officers released the driver on a warning and cleared the scene.
On 8/28/25, officers observed a vehicle traveling on Highway 119 with obstructed plates. The driver was stopped and given a verbal warning. The vehicle and plates were from out of the country without additional information.
On 8/28/25, at approximately 2:19 a.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop at the Lady Luck overflow parking for a broken headlight. The driver was issued a penalty assessment for not having a valid driver's license.
On 8/28/25, at approximately 2:53 a.m., Black Hawk police officers responded to the Lodge Casino to assist the Colorado Division of Gaming, which reported an underage suspect on the gaming floor who was reportedly being aggressive with security. The suspect was later located, detained, and issued a summons for underage gambling without further issue. An Assist Other Agency (AOA) report was completed.
On 8/28/25, Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino hotel on a report of disturbance. An investigation was conducted and officers determined that there was no crime that was committed. A report was taken.
On 8/29/25, at approximately 12:05 a.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to a harassment at the Bull Durham Casino at the bar. After the investigation, officers tried to locate the suspect. Officers were unable to locate the suspect. This case will be active pending further investigation.
On 8/29/25, at approximately 12:43 a.m., Black Hawk officers were notified about a hit-and-run at the intersection of Gregory and Main Streets. This case remains open upon further investigation.
On 8/29/25, at approximately 9:32 a.m., an officer responded to level 2 of the Horseshoe Casino parking garage, in reference to the theft of a tailgate. Upon arrival the officer met with the complainant and gathered the information for an offense report.
On 8/29/25, at approximately 2:06 p.m., a Black Hawk police officer took a phone report regarding lost property. After investigations, the property was not found, and a report was completed.
On 8/29/25, at approximately 3:12 p.m., Black Hawk police officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of damaged property. Officers later located and identified the suspect and issued them a summons.

On 8/29/25, Black Hawk officers observed a male party, who had an active warrant, at the Gregory Plaza. Officers contacted the male party and arrested the male party with no incident. A report was taken.
On 8/29/25, at approximately 10:24 p.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the intersection of Richman and Highway 119 for a potential disturbance. After further investigation it was determined there was no crime committed, and all parties were released.
On 8/30/25, at approximately 3:32 a.m., Black Hawk officers received a REDDI from Monarch surveillance. Officers made contact with the suspect at the Lodge Casino. The suspect was arrested for DUI and violation of protection order.
On 8/30/25, at approximately 4:27 a.m., a Black Hawk police officer responded to the Famous Bonanza Casino, at the request of the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office to assist them with a burglary alarm. Upon arrival, the officer and Gilpin County deputies worked together to discover that casino employees had tripped the alarm. A report was completed.
On 8/30/25, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a welfare check for an intoxicated female. The female was transported to Jefferson Crisis and Detox Center in Wheat Ridge without incident.
On 8/30/25, at approximately 12:56 p.m., a Black Hawk police officer took a phone report regarding lost property. A suspect was located, identified, and was issued a summons.
On 8/31/25, at approximately 1:13 a.m., a Black Hawk police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 119 and Richman Street with an expired license plate (4/25). The driver was contacted and issued a penalty assessment. A field interview report was completed.

On 8/31/25, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Black Hawk officers responded to the Z Casino, regarding a report of harassment. The parties involved were spoken to and released with no charges.
On 8/31/25, an officer from the Black Hawk police department responded to the Monarch Casino regarding a report of possible harassment. After speaking with the involved parties and reviewing the video, it was determined that no crime had occurred.
On 8/31/25, Black Hawk officers responded to the Gilpin Casino for a counterfeit bill that was discovered by staff. Officers contacted the party that had the bill. The male party was cooperative and stated he had received it from his bank. Officers confiscated the bill and cleared the scene.
On 8/31/25, while conducting restroom checks of 7315 Black Hawk Boulevard, an open door to the Bean and Cream Store was found unsecured. Officers cleared the store and found that staff had stayed over after normal hours and was outside when officers cleared the building.
