Nearly 80 students from Nederland Middle Senior High School (NMSHS) participated in Prom at the Riverbend in Boulder on Saturday, April 8, 2023.
Many students trekked up to Chautauqua in their fancy gowns and suits for photos with the beautiful Flatirons as a backdrop, followed by dinner at a variety of locations in Boulder. Several Juniors decorated the Riverbend in this year’s Masquerade theme and students were able to take a break from their dancing and go down to the creek where stings of lights made for a magical setting.
The fun didn’t stop there! The students ventured up to the UMC at CU Boulder and spent hours in the substance-free venue while playing pool, ping pong, bowling, basketball, karaoke, taking photos in the photo booth, playing board games and enjoying delicious treats from Decent Bagel and empanadas from Rincon Argentino. Over 100 wonderful raffle prizes were given away! Students were provided with safe and free transportation back to Nederland.
After Prom is organized by a committee of parents to provide a safe alternative for students after the Prom. Junior class parents fundraise and organize the event, and over a dozen chaperoned the event until early in the morning.
This amazing event would not have been possible without the generous donations from many local organizations, businesses and parents. The After Prom Committee would like to thank all of the donors for making this outstanding night a reality for all.
