Nederland’s Class of 2024 began their graduation week of festivities with the White Rose Ceremony. This was a time for the seniors to express gratitude to family, friends, and mentors. It is an emotional time as the seniors express their heartfelt thanks to the people they love—the people who helped get them to where they are today.
The seniors spoke of their parents and how they never gave up on them. Their parents encouraged them and stood by them even when these young adults knew they were being difficult or times were very difficult.
Some of them talked about the bonds they have with their siblings. Others talked about the close friendships they have. There were seniors who gave roses to special teachers and shared how thankful they were for them.
It can be difficult to express all the gratitude we have in our hearts for those we love. Sometimes a few words, a “thank you and I love you,” and a hug is all it takes to shine that light of grace and compassion in the world.
The Class of 2024 spread joy and love with the white roses they gave to the people they appreciate in their lives. Their words expressed their honesty and integrity. It was a beautiful way to start their last days at Nederland Middle-Senior High School.
