Located off the scenic Highway 7 between Highway 72 and Estes Park is the Rock Creek Tavern. After several years at the same location, owners Brenda and Dennis Sabo moved to accommodate more restaurant-goers. The move to a larger space has also helped expand its menu.
The move began in the middle of autumn 2022. After several weeks of moving, repairs, decorating, and unexpected adjustments, the tavern opened in November with limited seating, hours, and menu.
It didn’t take long for business to pick up, and in a matter of a couple of weeks, the tavern opened five days a week, serving some of the best pizza in the Rocky Mountains. At least, that’s what most residents have to say about Rock Creek Tavern.
Tavern fans can still enjoy meals from the original menu and have new meals to choose from, including salads, sandwiches, soups, and pizza, to name a few. Menu items are added one to two at a time as fine-tuning continues in the kitchen.
Brenda Sabo shares, “Business has been great! Our clientele has been so excited and they love our new space!! We know there will be much more excitement as we move closer to summer and see those that only come during the summer months. We are looking forward to being able to offer more menu selections and being able to cater to larger groups.”
Rock Creek is not only a tavern and pizzeria for the community and visitors of Allenspark but a place to feel at home with the cozy ambiance and delightful service. Come for the delicious food and stay for the friendly faces.
Cheerfully Brenda also shares, “We also very much appreciate the local support as it is they that help us to be successful!!” The tavern is closed Monday and Tuesday but offers a wonderful eating and drinking experience the rest of the week.
