Residential structure fire in Coal Creek Canyon

Posted

COAL CREEK CANYON - On May 12, 2025, at approximately 4:20 p.m., first responders from multiple agencies headed to the 500 block of Crescent Lake Road in unincorporated Boulder County on the report of a structure fire.

The homeowners were away at the time the fire started and only discovered the fire after returning home. The main part of the house was a total loss, with only the garage remaining unburned. Unfortunately, the family also lost two pets, a dog and a cat.

Boulder County victim advocates, along with the American Red Cross, responded to provide services and resources to the family.

Fire personnel from the Coal Creek Canyon Fire Rescue remained on-scene throughout the night to monitor the structure.

The Multi-Agency Fire Investigation Team (MAFIT) is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.

The agencies responding to the fire:  Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Coal Creek Canyon Fire Rescue, Timberline Fire Protection District, Nederland Fire Protection District, Boulder Emergency Squad, and the American Red Cross.

The Mountain-Ear will follow this tragedy and will report any updates regarding facts related to the fire.
