Recently Gilpin High School art students studied the post modern art movements Street Art and Pop Art. They made stunning large scale paintings employing both styles. The students explored their own interests and personal styles and combined graffiti, pop imagery and abstract techniques to come up with their creations.
Gilpin Middle School art students have been hard at work designing and creating an art and marketing project titled Snowboard and Ski Design. With this project students created logos and wrote elevator pitches. The idea being, what would you say if you casually met someone who could help you advance your business, say in an elevator.
The exhibit Streets to Mountains is on display at the Gilpin County Arts Association Gallery in Central City. It includes works of art from the Gilpin High School art students project Pop on the Street and Gilpin Middle School art students Snowboard and Ski Design and Marketing projects.
