No Animal Left behind receives donation from Maverick

Posted

BLACK HAWK – On Tuesday, November 19, No Animal Left Behind (NALB), a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, received a $2,000 donation from Maverick Cares, an initiative of Maverick Casinos in Central City.

The donation was presented at a ceremony where NALB members, including Brittanie Dickson, Melissa Lewis, and Carmell Dickson, were joined by Maverick Cares representative Steve Sirianni and a group of Maverick employees who came to show their support for the organization’s vital efforts in animal rescue.

Brittanie Dickson shared her journey with NALB: "My mom and I started doing this 7-8 years ago. And there are so many animals that go missing. So we started going into the woods to attempt to track these guys. It felt really good finding our first lost animal." This year, the organization rescued two emaciated boxers abandoned near South Beaver.

Melissa Lewis, who brings first responder experience to the group, stressed the importance of acting quickly to locate lost animals, especially given the region’s harsh weather conditions.

Maverick Cares representative Steve Sirianni highlighted the organization's motivation for the donation, stating, "It’s very important to find lost animals as fast as possible because of the weather."

He also explained Maverick Cares’ goal of addressing local needs and supporting meaningful causes like NALB’s mission to help pets and animals. Sirianni, joined by Maverick employees, shared their pride in contributing to a cause that makes a tangible difference in the community. He hinted that there will be more philanthropic efforts in the future.

NALB plans to use the funds to cover operational costs, critical veterinary care, supplies, and potentially purchase a UTV for accessing remote areas where normal vehicles cannot reach. Since earning its 501(c)(3) status, the organization has gained access to grants and other funding opportunities, enabling it to expand its reach and impact.

This partnership with Maverick Cares represents a significant step forward in NALB's mission. Sirianni expressed his desire to maintain communication with NALB and remain informed about their rescues and activities.

The donation event, featuring the presentation of a large ceremonial check, reflected a shared commitment to community support. The involvement of Maverick employees, alongside Sirianni, showed the organization’s dedication to giving back. As NALB continues its important work, collaborations like these will ensure that no animal is left behind.
