Colleen Stuart, Gilpin County. The Gilpin County Clerk and Recorder’s office is celebrating the opening of the long anticipated and much needed Ballot Drop-Off box in Rollinsville! Clerk and Recorder, Colleen Stewart and Elections Director, Gail Maxwell will be opening the box to receive voted ballots on June 6, 2016. The drop-off box is located at the Gilpin County Public Works Shop, 135 Tolland Rd. (This is where the former Vote Center was before the Statewide Mail Ballot went into effect.) This location will help serve the north county voters with a convenient location to drop off their mail ballots. Thank you to all the residents of Gilpin County who made a contribution to help fund this project.
The Primary Election is June 28, 2016. Ballots will be mailed out to all voters who are registered as either a Democrat or Republican. The mailing will begin June 6, 2016. The new drop-off box will be open 24 hours from June 6 – June 27, 2016. On June 28, 2016, Election Day, the box will close at 7:00 p.m.
