On 12/2/21, the Nederland Police Department was contacted regarding a dog at large. The Nederland Police Department investigated and completed a report that gave the dogs owners a warning.
On 12/2/21, it was reported to the Nederland Police Department that the flower pots in the area of the Visitor Center were vandalized. The incident was investigated and a report was completed.
On 12/6/21, at approximately 10:13 a.m., Nederland Police officers were dispatched to the B & F Mountain Market on a report of a physical disturbance that had just occurred. Officers did an investigation and after speaking to all parties involved the situation was mediated and there was not enough evidence for probable cause for criminal charges.
On 12/7/21, at approximately 1:20 p.m., a Nederland Police officer responded to a cold hit and run property damage accident to an unoccupied parked vehicle in front of 24 Big Springs Drive. A report was taken per the victim’s request.
On 12/9/21. An officer observed a potential DUI driver in the area of 40000 Boulder Canyon Drive. The suspect driver was contacted at 9th and Canyon Drive after falling asleep at the red light. The defendant’s vehicle had fresh damage from a crash between Eldora and Boulder. The driver refused all tests and was arrested by Boulder Police Department.
On 12/11/21, the Nederland Police Department investigated a report of a suicidal male that ultimately was determined to be in the Adams County area. The information was referred to the Adam’s County Sheriff’s Office.
On 12/13/21, at approximately 10:53 a.m., an officer towed a previously tagged abandoned vehicle near Big Springs Drive on Hwy 119.
On 12/13/21, at approximately 5:02 p.m., a Nederland Police officer took a walk-in report at the Nederland Police Department of a warm vehicle trespass and theft that occurred in the parking lot of 20 Lakeview Drive. The vehicle was unlocked, and a wallet and its contents were taken.
On 12/13/21, at approximately 10:00 a.m., an officer was flagged down on Highway 119 near the intersection of Big Springs Drive. The reporting party spoke about a possible harassment that just occurred with her neighbor. The officer spoke with both parties and mediated the situation when it was clear no crime was committed.
On 12/15/21, the Nederland Police Department assisted the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office for a reported disturbance. The incident was investigated and a report was made.
On 12/15/21, The Nederland Police Department was contacted about stolen credit cards that were being used at multiple businesses in town. The case originated in Gilpin County. Gilpin County took over the entire investigation.
On 12/16/21, the Nederland Police Department responded to a welfare check. With assistance from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado Parks and Wildlife the incident was investigated and a report was completed.
On 12/18/21, the Nederland Police Department assisted the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office (BSCO) with a domestic dispute in the Town of Eldora. The BCSO case number is 21-6093. No charges resulted from the investigation.
On 12/20/21, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a Nederland Police officer responded to Alpine Drive in the Big Springs neighborhood on a report of a dog at large complaint. The officer met with the victim who requested the owner of the dog be warned but not charged.
On 12/22/21, at approximately 5:46 p.m., Nederland Police officers responded to Alpine Drive on a report of three males trespassing at a residence. After speaking with the reporting party and other individuals involved it was determined no trespassing or harassment occurred. Upon further investigation, there was a report of possible financial crimes that occurred. It was actively investigated and resulted in being unfounded.
On 12/22/21, the Nederland Police Department responded to a welfare check. Officers investigated the incident. Officers reached out to other services to assist the family, and completed a report.
On 12/23/21, at approximately 12:31 a.m., an officer took a report about a cold harassment that occurred at a local brewery. The victim/reporting party did not want to press charges but asked the officer to help mediate the situation.
On 12/24/21, a party called the Nederland Police Department to report he was bitten by a dog on W. 4th Street. The RP stated the dog appeared to be a gray Australian Shepherd. The RP reported no holes in his clothes and the dog’s teeth did not break the skin on his left calf. He did have some discoloration where he stated he was bit.
On 12/26/21, the Nederland Police Department investigated an Identity Theft that occurred in the Town of Nederland, County of Boulder, State of Colorado. The remainder of the investigation is being handled by the Fraud Department of Wells Fargo Bank.
On 12/27/21, Theft of Catalytic Converter Synopsis. The victims’ vehicle was parked and unlicensed for 17 months with a seized engine. The vehicle had the Catalytic Converter, struts and rear tow bar, stolen from the vehicle. No suspects have been identified.
On 12/28/21, at 4 p.m., a Husky male mix approximately three years old, was transported to BVHS. The dog had no tags and was wearing a pinch collar, half fabric, half metal. The dog was collected by NVFD personnel around 6 a.m. on 12/28/21, at Highway 119 and CR 130. They posted to a local FB page and no one came forward. The dog was turned over to NPD and transported to the humane society.
On 12/29/21, the Nederland Police Department was contacted for a traffic accident which occurred earlier in the day. The involved parties were contacted and a report completed.
On 12/29/21, at approximately 2:45 p.m., a Nederland Police officer spoke with a resident / reporting party on W 4th Street. The resident requested a neighbor trespassed from her property. The reporting party has had an ongoing issue with this neighbor trespassing onto their property and feeding their ducks and chickens without their permission. The resident signed an Affidavit of Trespass and it was delivered to the neighbor/ trespassing party.
On 12/26/21, the Nederland Police Department assisted the Nederland Fire department with a medical call in the Town of Nederland.
On 1/1/22, the Nederland Police Department investigated a Reckless Endangerment, Reckless Driving complaint that occurred in the Town of Nederland. Suspect information is known and this is an ongoing investigation. There were no injuries or damages associated with this complaint.
On 1/3/22, at approximately 2:26 p.m., a Nederland Police officer took a phone call about a cold private property accident report that occurred on 1/28/21 at approximately 1 p.m. in the parking lot near 60 Lakeview Drive.
On 1/5/22, at approximately 10:26 a.m., a Nederland Police officer received a phone call in regards to a missing person. After speaking to the reporting party further the missing person was found to be a suspect of motor vehicle theft from Commerce City the previous day. The officer worked with the reporting party and located the stolen vehicle with fictitious license plates on E 1st Street. Boulder County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to cover the Nederland officer and a search of the town was conducted. The suspect is thought to have fled. With coordination from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and the Commerce City Police Department. The victim of the stolen vehicle was contacted and the vehicle will be returned.
On 1/6/22, at 8:25 a.m., Nederland Police observed two cars in the B&F Parking lot at 60 Lakeview Drive. The cars looked to have just been in an accident. NPD made contact and it was a non-injury crash.
On 1/6/22, the Nederland Police Department investigated a domestic violence assault that occurred in the Town of Nederland. The suspect had an existing warrant for a domestic violencerelated charge (N21-0234). The suspect was arrested on both the warrant (N22- 0006) and new charges stemming from this investigation.
On 1/6/22, at approximately 2:01 p.m., Nederland Police officers arrested a female for an outstanding warrant for Domestic Violence Harassment on W Pine Street and transported her to the Boulder County Jail.
On 1/7/22, the Nederland Police Department took an informational report of criminal activity that occurred in Gilpin County. The report was forwarded to the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office immediately and the Department of Human Services was notified immediately. The Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office case number related to this report is 22-017.
On 1/8/22, the Nederland Police Department recovered a dog which was running at large. The owner was located and issued a summons.
On 1/8/22, at approximately 9 p.m., a Nederland Police officer spoke to a possible domestic violence victim over the phone. These instances were cold occurrences that happened months prior to being reported. The reporting party was charged as the primary aggressor in two cases of domestic violence against the person / individual she was claiming was the primary aggressor in four other separate instances of domestic violence. The officer met with the reporting party on 1/10/22 as agreed upon by the reporting party and victim. It was determined only two of the instances reported occurred in the Town of Nederland but there was not enough probable cause to effect an arrest. Pending further information and evidence, the case will be put to an inactive status.
On 1/10/22, NPD was called to a reported trespass and menacing. The dispute originated from the building of a fence, and ongoing neighbor feud. Contractors on the neighbor’s property working on installing the fence were told to leave. Things became heated and words were exchanged. One neighbor stated he would shoot the contractors. Both the menacing and trespass were unfounded.
On 1/13/22, at 4:30 p.m., NPD received a phone call from an employee at the Eldora Ski area where the employee runs the retail clothing shop. He was reporting that the theft of ski pants valued at $400 had just occurred. In addition, the suspect should be driving through town any minute, providing a plate and vehicle description. The suspect vehicle was located by BCSO and NPD officers. It was stopped, the suspect denied the theft. However, he was positively identified by the witness. The suspects’ vehicle was searched, and the pants were found; tags still on them. The suspect was issued a Misdemeanor summons for theft into Boulder County Court.
On 1/14/22, 12:07 a.m., the Boulder County Communications Center received a phone call regarding an assault that took place in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street in the Town of Nederland. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office covers the law enforcement duties of the town overnight and responded to the call. The victim, a 34-year-old male, was assaulted and sustained serious bodily injury. The victim was taken to a hospital via ambulance for treatment. The suspect, a 31-year-old, fled before law enforcement arrived. The next morning, shortly after 6 a.m., the Boulder County Communications Center received a call for a welfare check for a male lying in the road in the 100 block E. 2nd Street, Nederland. Upon arrival by first responders, the male was pronounced deceased. Based on witness accounts, the deceased male appears to be the suspect in the previous night’s assault. The death did not appear suspicious in nature. The following agencies responded to the incidents; Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Nederland Police Department, Boulder Police Department, Colorado Rangers Law Enforcement Shared Reserve, Boulder County District Attorney’s Office, AMR Ambulance, and the Boulder County Coroner’s Office. The associated Boulder County Sheriff’s Office case number for the original assault is 22-205. The case number for the unattended death is 22-208.
On 1/20/22, the Nederland Police Department investigated a Trespass complaint in the Town of Nederland that resulted in a summons of a woman into Nederland Municipal Court. The female previously had a documented Trespass Affidavit for the property (N21-0559).
On 1/20/22, a local resident contacted the Nederland Police Department by phone and requested to meet about an incident for which she contacted NPD on 1/19/22. The reporting party (RP) came to the Nederland Police Department. The reporting party stated she met a man on 1/17/22, and sent him a text to stop contacting her, or to come near her or her home. He sent a reply acknowledging the text. The reporting party sent her another text on Thursday afternoon. The RP suspected the man might be stalking her at her home and her work.
On 1/22/22, an officer was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of School Road and Indian Peaks Drive. Upon arrival, the officer observed a silver Dodge pickup and a Subaru SUV stuck in a pile of snow on the north side of the road. The driver of the silver Dodge was cited.
On 1/23/22, an officer was dispatched to contact a party regarding a child custody issue.
On 1/25/22, at approximately 6:05 p.m., the Nederland Police Department received a phone call from a reporting party in regards to a possible harassment at the Nederland Ice & Racquet Park that occurred on Friday, 1/21/22 at approximately 6 p.m. It is actively being investigated.
On 1/30/22, the Nederland Police Department responded to a medical call. The circumstances of the incident were suspicious and investigated. The party was transported to the hospital and a report was completed.
