The Town of Nederland is interested in applying for the Revitalizing Main Streets grant, which is aimed at improving multimodal safety and accessibility.
In May 2021, Town submitted an application for the Revitalizing Main Streets grant. Unfortunately, the grant application was not accepted. However, Town has now received an email inviting us to reapply.
We’d like to move forward with submitting an application, but scale back the project a bit and focus specifically on reconstructing the sidewalk on the south side of East 1st Street, extend the sidewalk to Snyder Street, and make a connection to the 2nd Street sidewalk.
The proposed project aligns with the goals identified in the Nederland Downtown Development Authority Master Plan and the Town’s Comprehensive Plan.
While we work on drafting the grant application, we’d love to hear from the community as to what you think about this plan and if there are additional modifications you’d like to see made.
Please submit your feedback to Miranda Fisher, Town Administrator, by 9 a.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022. Email: townadmin@nederlandco.org or phone: 303-350-7192.
