Nederland Middle School Alpine Ski Team

Barbara Lawlor, Nederland.   The Nederland Middle School Alpine Ski Team is a group of talented young athletes who will ensure the future of the Nederland High School ski program for years to come. These young skiers are working hard and showing up in the top three places among the middle school teams.

At the Ski Cooper Slalom race last Thursday, Jan. 21, the Ned boys came in third place and the Ned girls tied for second place with Lake County. Rhyse Kuechenmeister was first in both of her runs and Lucas Haug with the NMS both came in first place in his second run.

Team total girls: 1. Summit 337; 2. Nederland, 334; tied with Lake County, 334; 3. Clear Creek, 294; 4. Vail Mountain, 105.

Team total boys: 1. Summit, 343; 2. Vail Mountain, 337; 3. Nederland, 313; 4. Lake Country, 297; 5. Clear Creek, 278.
