NEDERLAND — On October 23, Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) sent a statement to the Nederland Schools community stating that Principal Caleb Melamed will be returning to leadership responsibilities at Nederland Middle-Senior High School and Nederland Elementary on Monday, October 26, 2026, after being on administrative leave.
In a statement from Dr. Neil Anderson, BVSD Assistant Superintendent of Schools, he said, “As we shared a few weeks ago, there was an investigation regarding an event held at Nederland Middle-Senior High School. With any personnel matter, we are limited in what we can share and we appreciate your continued respect for the privacy of those involved, but we want to assure you that the matter was taken seriously. As required by law and our protocol, we contacted law enforcement.
“The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office led the investigation and ultimately determined that no charges were warranted. BVSD has also completed its investigation on the allegations and determined that no violations of Board policy occurred. Based on these findings, Principal Melamed has been reinstated to his position.”
Anderson closed the message to the Nederland Schools community by stating, “We look forward to welcoming Principal Melamed back and continuing our work together in support of the students, staff, and families of Nederland.”
