While Nederland astrologer Karen Anderson may be able to tell you all about yourself when she does a reading for you, she tends not to talk much about herself.
Born in Boston, she’s been a student of astrology since she was 14. While she has a Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychology, her passion has always been astrology and other esoteric studies – she has performed palmistry and Tarot readings at the Renaissance Festival in Larkspur for 15 years, and provided astrology and Tarot readings at the Body Mind Spirit Celebration Fair in Denver for eight years.
Currently, as well as writing the Mountain Spirit Astrology column for The Mountain-Ear for more than 20 years, Anderson does readings at Blue Owl Books in Nederland on weekends. She has now lived in Ned for 30 years.
Astrology is her life path. She served as president of the western states’ chapter of the National Council for Geocosmic Research, one of the world’s largest astrological organizations, for 15 years. She has Level III certification from this group.
In her spare time, she enjoys writing stories for young adults. With her deeply empathic background, she seems to be the perfect person for that particular genre.
