On 7-1-18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City Pkwy. The driver was issued a penalty assessment.


On 7-1-18 a deputy contacted two parties trespassing on Youngs Ranch property off the Central City Pkwy. Both parties were combative with the deputy and resisted arrest. Both parties were eventually arrested and booked into Gilpin Jail.

On 7-1-18 a deputy stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Gregory Street for displaying expired number plates. The number plates did not belong to the vehicle and the driver did not have a valid drivers license. The driver was issued a summons.


On 7-2-18 a Gilpin deputy was called to a north county residence to assist Gilpin County Department of Human Services. Investigation revealed Human Services had found suspected drugs inside two syringes, and four empty syringes within reach of a toddler. The syringes were confiscated and Human Services took action for the safety of the toddler.


On 7-2-18 a deputy was working a DUI enforcement grant shift and conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119 at mile marker 1.1. The driver was later arrested for DUI.


On 7-3-18 a deputy contacted a vehicle on Highway 119 after receiving reports the parties were intoxicated and a female was crying. One of of the parties was arrested for violation of a protection order and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.


On 7-3-18 a Gilpin deputy was patrolling mid county, and clocked a speeder at 57 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, but it pulled into a neighborhood in what appeared to be an attempt to elude the deputy. The driver of the speeding car was issued a summons.


On 7-3-18 at approximately 10:37 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119. The driver of the vehicle was later placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.


On 7-4-18 at approximately 10:12 a.m., a deputy caused damage to a county vehicle in the parking lot, in the area between Building #5 and Building #6, of the Gold Mountain Village Apartments, located at 440 Powder Run Drive, Central City, Colorado 80427. Colorado State Patrol responded to the scene and completed an accident report. An informational report was also completed.


On 7-5-18 at approximately 1:36 a.m., deputies responded to a residence on the report of a female who had broken a window. The same female party was later arrested for criminal mischief related to domestic violence. This was done to assist a law enforcement agency in South Dakota where this assault occurred. During this assist, another crime was revealed, an assault on this same person which occurred in the recent past in Central City. Investigation revealed the assault did occur and a warrant was requested, and granted, for the arrest of the suspect.


On 7-5-18 a deputy received a report of a cold assault at the Gold Mountain
Village Apartments. A report was taken and a warrant was completed for the suspect.


On 7-5-18 a deputy responded to a fire burning near the rec center. The deputy located the fire, which was a pile of mulch smoking with an occasional flame. After some investigation, it appeared the fire was human caused and intentional. There are no suspect leads exist at this time.


On 7-6-18 at approximately 10:57 p.m., a deputy responded to a death investigation in unincorporated Gilpin County.


On 7-6-18 a deputy took a report of a possible fraud attempt. A report was made.


On 7-6-18 deputies responded to the Gold Mountain Village Apartments on the report of a party attempting to break into an apartment. A male party was later arrested for a warrant and violation of a protection order.


On 7-7-18 a deputy contacted two people in a vehicle inside of the Grand Z Casino Parking Garage. One party was arrested for an outstanding warrant as well as possession of methamphetamine. The party also introduced additional methamphetamine into the jail inside of his person.


On 7-8-18 at 8:05 a.m. deputies responded to a casino located in the 100 block of Main Street, Central City CO 80427, on the report of a counterfeit one hundred-dollar bill. A report was completed.


On 7-8-18 at approximately 8:30 a.m., a man was arrested for DUI in the Z-Stop gas station parking lot, 1351 Highway 119, Black Hawk Colorado, 80422 in unincorporated Gilpin County.


On 7-9-18 a deputy took a theft report for a stolen cellphone. There is no suspect information.


On 7-9-18 a deputy took a phone report of a cold assault. A report was later completed, but no charges were pursued.


On 7-9-18 at approximately 9:26 a.m., a man was arrested on a warrant in the lobby of the Gilpin County Court.


On 7-9-18 a deputy responded to the Gold Mountain Village Apartments for the report of a possible harassment. No charges were filed.


On 7-9-18 a deputy responded to 141 Nevada Street for the report of a motor vehicle accident. It was determined there was not an accident.


On 7-9-18 at approximately 4 p.m., a deputy responded to the lobby of the Sheriffs Office, for a female turning herself in on a Gilpin CICJIS Warrant, for failure to appear. The female was escorted into the jail and booked in without incident.

On 7-9-18 at approximately 6:26 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to 410 Bobtail Hill Cir Central City, on a report of possible harassment. A case report was completed pending further investigation.

On 7-10-18 a deputy took a report of a lost cell phone at Columbine Campground.

On 7-10-18 at approximately 9:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a trespass near mile marker 5 on Highway 119. The deputies contacted all of the parties involved including the property owner. The party who was trespassing was issued a summons to appear in court and left the property.

On 7-11-18 at approximately 8:40 a.m., a person with an active, valid warrant was arrested in the Gilpin County Courthouse, and brought the Gilpin County Detention Facility for processing.

On 7-11-18 at 3:15 p.m., a subject turned himself in on an active Gilpin County warrant.

On 7-11-18 at approximately 8:48 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Rollinsville. The driver was later found to be without a valid drivers license and was issued a summons.


On 7-12-18 at approximately 12:57 a.m., a deputy responded to an address on a 911 hang up investigation. While on scene the deputy determined a vehicle had been damaged. The deputy completed a report and an affidavit for an arrest warrant for the suspect.


On 7-12-18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City Pkwy. The driver was issued a summons for using someone else’s license plates.


On 7-13-18 at approximately 10:18 a.m., an active, valid warrant was discovered for a person in custody at the Gilpin County Detention Facility. The party was arrested and processed on the warrant.


0n 7-13-18 at approximately 6:40 a.m., a deputy working his assigned shift at the Gilpin County Jail, arrested one adult male and had him booked into the Gilpin County Jail on a warrant without incident.


On 7-13-18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 72 and the driver was issued a summons for driving on a restrained license.


On 7-13-18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 72 and the driver was issued a summons for reckless driving.


On 7-13-18 at approximately 8:37 p.m., a deputy was in the process of booking in a male party and discovered a warrant for his arrest.


On 7-13-18 at approximately 10:17 p.m., a deputy came upon a motor vehicle accident in the city limits of Black Hawk. A second vehicle was observed leaving the scene and the deputy stopped that vehicle and the driver was later arrested for DUI by Black hawk Police Department.


On 7-14-18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Lawrence Street in Central City. The driver was later arrested for possession of a controlled substance and violation of bond conditions.


On 7-14-18 a deputy responded to a motorcycle accident on Highway 119. The rider refused medical treatment and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.


On 7-14-18 a deputy responded to a report of a dog bite. Upon arrival a report was taken. No charges were filed against dog owner.


On 7-14-18 at approximately 7:26 p.m., a man was given a criminal summons as a result of a shooting complaint at Highway 119 mile marker 11.5, Black Hawk Colorado, 80422 in unincorporated Gilpin County.


On 7-15-18 a deputy took a report of stolen checks that were cashed. A suspect was identified but the reporting party did not wish to pursue charges. A report was made.


On 7-16-18 at approximately 4:21 a.m., a warrant was located on a woman in the parking garage of the Grand Z Casino. The woman was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail without incident.


On 7-16-18 at approximately 11:21 a.m., a deputy was performing his assigned duties at the Gilpin County Detention Center and was informed by Control that there was a male party wanting to turn himself in, who was located in the lobby on a warrant.


On 7-16-18 at 12:01 a.m., a male party came to the Gilpin County Sheriffs Office and reported a criminal mischief which occurred in the 2500 block of Lake Gulch Road, unincorporated Gilpin County, CO, 80427. The party reported getting a flat tire on his motorcycle from spikes that were placed in the road. A report was taken.

On 7-16-18 a deputy stopped a vehicle in Central City because the driver was revoked HTO. The deputy also located controlled substances inside of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody.

On 7-16-18 at approximately 9:55 p.m., a man was arrested for suspicion of DUI near the 500 block of Main St, Black Hawk Colorado, 80422.

On 7-17-18 at 9:28 a.m., a deputy responded to the Gilpin County Historical Society, in Central City, on the report of a party defacing property at the Coeur dAlene Mine, located in the 100 block of Academy Street, Central City CO 80427. A report was taken.


On 7-17-18 at approximately 10:45 a.m., an active, valid warrant was discovered for a person in custody at the Gilpin County Detention Facility. The person was arrested and processed on the warrant.


On 7-17-18 at approximately 9:41 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the Grand Z Casino located at 321 Gregory St, Central City Gilpin County, CO on a report of an assault. A case report was completed.


On 7-18-18 at approximately 12:54 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop at Highway 46 and Highway 119. The driver was later issued a summons to appear in court for an unregistered vehicle, uninsured vehicle, fictitious plates and defective brake light.


On 7-18-18 at approximately 9:00 a.m., a deputy responded to the Gilpin County Justice Center for traffic complaint. The driver was issued a summons.


On 7-18-18 at 4:57 p.m. Black Hawk Police Department had a warrant on an inmate at the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Department Jail. The warrant was confirmed. The warrant was found to be valid and the inmate was booked in on the new warrant.


On 7-18-18 at approximately 5:15 p.m., a deputy took a report on a theft in Central City. This case remains open during further investigation. The deputy placed a male party into custody after the male party turned himself in on a active Gilpin County warrant.


On 7-19-18 at approximately 8:00 p.m., a deputy was able to locate a male party at a residential address who had and outstanding arrest warrant. The male party was later arrested for the outstanding warrant.


On 7-19-18 a deputy conducted a welfare check in the Century Casino Parking Garage. A female party in the vehicle was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.


On 7-20-18 at approximately 10:40 a.m., a person arrived to the Gilpin County Sheriffs Office to turn herself in on an active, valid warrant. The person was arrested and brought to the Gilpin County Detention Facility for processing.

On 7-20-18 at approximately 12:02 a.m., a deputy responded to a burglary call. Upon arrival it was determined it was 1st criminal trespass. Items were taken from a vehicle sometime during the evening. There is no suspect at this time.

On 7-20-18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City Pkwy for a vehicle traveling 28 MPH over the speed limit. The driver was issued a summons for driving on a suspended license, speeding, no insurance and using someone else's license plates.


On 7-21-18 at approximately 10:44 a.m. a Deputy conducted a traffic stop in Central City. The driver was later arrested for drug related charges I’m and the vehicle was towed.


On 7-21-18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Nevada Street. The driver was arrested for DUI.


On 7-21-18 a deputy stopped a vehicle for not having a valid license plate. The driver was not truthful about their name and was taken into custody for several charges and a warrant.


On 7-21-18 an inmate in the Gilpin County Jail was found to have an active warrant. This party was processed into the jail on the warrant and a report was later completed.


On 7-21-18 a deputy completed an arrest warrant for a male party.


On 7-21-18 at approximately 7:26 p.m., a theft report was taken over the phone regarding a stolen canoe located at the 600 Block of South Beaver Rd. in unincorporated Gilpin County.


On 7-21-18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City Pkwy and the driver was issued a summons.


On 7-21-18 at approximately 11:23 p.m., a female was placed on an M1 hold after making suicidal statements. This occurred in the 300 block of Aspen Ln in unincorporated Gilpin County.


On 7-22-18 at 9:05 a.m., a party who was at the Gilpin County Sheriffs Office to visit an inmate was found to have a drivers license that was cancelled/denied. The partys Colorado Driver License was confiscated, and she was issued a proof of service.

On 7-22-18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Nevada Street. The driver was issued a summons for driving while license under restraint.

On 7-22-18 at approximately 6:40 p.m., a Gilpin Deputy stopped a vehicle, in mid-county, for a missing headlamp. Investigation revealed the driver had a cancelled drivers license due to an unpaid ticket. The driver was cited and waited on scene to be picked up by a licensed driver.


On 7-22-18 at approximately 6:40 p.m., a deputy was called to a casino in Central City to assist the Colorado Division of Gaming. When the deputy arrived there were two parties that the Division of Gaming Investigators were with. The deputy was informed that one of the parties was no longer welcome on the property. The deputy informed the party they needed to leave immediately, but the party refused to comply. When the deputy attempted to take the party into custody the party resisted. The deputy was able to take the party into custody with Division of Gaming Investigators. The party was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.


On 7-23-18 at 4:03 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at a parking garage in the 100 block of Gregory, Central City CO 80427. The investigation failed to establish probable cause for an arrest and both parties were released.


On 7-23-18 a deputy responded to the 100 block of Bear Crossing Rd, on a dog call. One dog was captured by the deputy and transported to the Gilpin County Jail for safe keeping. The other dog was not captured. When contacted, the dog owner will be cited for the appropriate violations.


On 7-23-18 a Gilpin County Sheriffs Office deputy was contacted by a citizen who reported an attempted fraud incident at 107 Main St. Central City. At this time the case is more of an informational item.

On 7-23-18 a deputy responded to the Coyote Motel to assist another agency. Upon arrival, there were counterfeit bills found inside a motel room. Other items of interest were later discovered, which has prompted an investigation into possible forgery charges.

On 7-23-18 at approximately 7:18 p.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle on the Central City Parkway near Mile post 5.9 located in for speeding, after further investigation it was found the driver did not have a valid drivers license.


On 7-24-18 at approximately 1:07 p.m., a man was arrested for a DUI near mile marker four, Highway 119, in unincorporated Gilpin County, 80422.


On 7-24-18 at approximately 1:35 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to 2960 Dory Hill Rd. Black Hawk, CO on cold domestic violence report. The case is still under investigation.


On 7-24-18 a male party came to the Sheriffs Office for visitation. His license was discovered to be suspended. The license was returned to the Department of Revenue, and he was issued a Proof of Service.

On 7-24-18 a female party came to the Sheriffs Office for visitation. Her license was discovered to be suspended. The license was returned to the Department of Revenue, and she was issued a Proof of Service


On 7-24-18 at approximately 9:00 p.m., a deputy responded to a call on Lump Gulch Road for a mail theft and a report was completed.


On 7-24-18 at approximately 9:43 p.m., a deputy was performing his assigned duties at the Gilpin County Detention Center when he received a call from the Control Center in the jail that there was a party in the lobby that wanted to turn himself in.


On 7-24-18 at approximately 11:21 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the Grand Z Casino located at 321 Gregory St, Central City, on a report of theft. During the investigation it was found one of the parties of interest had a revoked drivers license. A proof of service was issued to the party and a Case Report was completed.

On 7-25-18 at approximately 3:10 a.m., deputies responded to a suspicious incident call on Highway 46. When the deputies arrived, they saw a message painted on the highway referencing recent fires in the county. There are no suspects at this time and a report was completed.

On 7-25-18 a Gilpin deputy responded to a verbal altercation at the Gilpin Transfer Station. Both parties involved were contacted, no charges we’re filed.

On 7-25-18 at approximately 1:00 p.m., located at the Gilpin County Sheriffs Office, a deputy conducted a welfare check of a white male who was identified and found to have a suspend drivers license. The male was issued a proof of service.

On 7-25-18 at approximately 4:00 p.m., an individual came to the Gilpin County Jail to turn himself in on a warrant. An active warrant was found and the subject was taken into custody and booked into the Gilpin County jail without incident. A deputy completed the booking of a male party who was in custody on unrelated offenses.

On 7-26-18 a Gilpin deputy responded to an incident where a local resident threatened a Colorado Natural Gas Employee. After an investigation, the local resident was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County jail on the charge of Felony Menacing.

On 7-26-18 at approximately 7:00 p.m., a Deputy took a report from a female party who wanted to provide information related to the recent fires at the Gilpin County Recreation Center.

On 7-26-18 at 7:01 p.m., a deputy responded to the 100 block of Upper Travis Gulch Road, unincorporated Gilpin County CO 80422, on a theft call. The victim reported that he did not receive a package that was delivered to his residence. A report was taken.

On 7-27-18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Central City. The driver was issued a ticket for driving without a valid drivers license.


On 7-27-18 at approximately 12:51 a.m., a deputy received a cold menacing call that occurred on La Chula Rd. Caller only wanted the incident documented.


On 7-27-18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the Dostal Alley Casino Parking Lot. The driver was issued a summons for driving on a suspended license.


On 7-28-18 a deputy was on routine patrol at Spring Street and Bridge Street, in Central City CO 80427, and observed a traffic signal light pole had been knocked down. A report was completed.


On 7-28-18 at 11:01 a.m., a deputy responded to a casino located in the 300 block of Gregory St, Central City, regarding possible fraud. Investigation revealed that the incident occurred in Denver and had been reported previously.


On 7-28-18 at 11:54 a.m., deputies responded to a casino located in the 300 block of Gregory Street, Central City, CO 80427, on a medical call. The caller reported a male was unconscious and not breathing. Responders found the male party to be deceased. An investigation was initiated.


On 7-29-18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119. The driver was issued a summons for not having insurance, no drivers license and operating an unregistered vehicle. The vehicle was also impounded.

On 7-29-18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 100 Block of Nevada Street on a vehicle with no license plate. The female driver was issued a penalty assessment and a male party was arrested for possession of heroin and meth.

On 7-29-18 at approximately 4:12 a.m., a female party requested a motorist assist. She presented a suspended Colorado Driver License and was issued a proof of service without incident.

On 7-29-18 a deputy stopped a vehicle for having an expired temporary tag. The driver of the vehicle did not have a valid drivers license and was issued a summons.


On 7-29-18 a deputy responded to the Easy Street Casino, on the report of a counterfeit bill.


On 7-29-18 at approximately 10:30 p.m., a man was arrested in connection with a domestic disturbance which occurred in the 400 Block of Aurora Road in unincorporated Gilpin County.


On 7-30-18 a deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver was later released on a summons.


On 7-30-18 a female’s wallet was turned in to the Sheriff`s Office.


On 7-30-18 a deputy was conducting an area check of the Century parking garage. The deputy located a male party inside a vehicle. It was later determined the male party had 2 outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was taken into custody and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.


On 7-31-18 a deputy took a report on a lost / stolen wallet.


On 7-31-18 at approximately 10:25 p.m., two vehicles were called in as a traffic complaint for passing on a double yellow line on Highway 46. Vehicles were stopped and cited.


On 7-31-18 a deputy responded to a cold assault that occurred on the Central City Parkway between a daughter and mom. The incident is under investigation.


0n 7-31-18 a deputy was working an assigned shift at the Gilpin County Detention Facility. At that time, a male party was remanded into custody on an active warrant out of Gilpin County and an additional active warrant out of the Arvada Police Department. He was booked and processed into the Gilpin County Jail without incident.
