Timberline Election

Elisabeth Grove, Peak to Peak.   

Timberline Fire Protection District Ballow Issue A was passed with 2,086 YES votes, to 717 NO votes.

Ballots mailed to property owner eligible electors 1,204.  Ballots mailed to resident eligible electors (includes 44 UOCAVA ballots) 4,030.  New mail ballots issued 27. TOTAL BALLOTS ISSUED 5,261.  Ballots returned undelivered 326.  Total ballots received and counted 2803.  Total ballots rejected and defective (not counted) 9.  Total ballots rejected due to receiving late from Gilpin County Clerk (not counted) 20. Total Voter Turnout 57.3%.

Dems take Boulder County

John Scarffe, Boulder County.   Democrats won the majority of seats in the November 6, 2018, elections in Boulder County. For District 3 Boulder county commissioner, Democrat Matt Jones took 69.47 percent of the votes to beat Republican Gary Cooper with 24.35 percent of the votes and Green Party candidate Cliff Willmeng with 6.17 percent of the votes, according to unofficial election results from Boulder County at 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2018.


Democrats Molly Fitzpatrick won the Clerk and Recorder’s Office, Paul Weissman, county treasurer, Cynthia Braddock for county assessor, Lee Stadele for county surveyor and Emma R. Hall for coroner all received 100 percent of the votes. Democratic sheriff’s candidate Joseph Pelle received 81.84 percent of the votes against John Bedrick with 18.16 percent.


The Boulder County Ballot Issue 1A for an alternative sentencing facility and jail modernization with county sales and use tax received 75.13 percent of the vote and 24.87 percent against.

Gilpin County results

John Scarffe, Gilpin County.    Current County Commissioner Linda Jean Isenhart regained her seat on the Gilpin County Commission in the November 6, 2018, elections in Gilpin County. For Gilpin County Commissioner District 2, Democrat Isenhart received 1,505 votes compared to 1,341 for Republican Candidate and County Sheriff Bruce Hartman, and 225 votes for Independent Jerry Yocum.


Isenhart said by telephone Tuesday night that the Gilpin Democrats worked hard on this election and she is very glad to be re-elected. Sheriff Hartman ran a good campaign.


For Gilpin County Clerk and Recorder, Democrat Sahari McCormick received 1,573 over Gail Maxwell with 1,496. For Gilpin County Treasurer, Republican Mary Lorenz received 1,633 votes compared to Democrat Susan Berumen with 1,436 votes.


Democrat and Incumbent Anne Schafer received 1,731 for Gilpin County Assessor compared to 1,342 for Republican Daurice McMillan. For Gilpin County Sheriff, County Emergency Manager and Republican Kevin Armstrong received 1,585 votes compared to Independent Joel Anderle with 1,446. Zane G Laubhan ran unopposed for County Coroner and received 82 percent of the vote.


The City of Black Hawk Ballot Issue 2A received 47 votes in favor and 15 against.

New Mayor elected

John Scarffe, Central City.   At a mail ballot election in Central City, Colorado, on November 6, 2018, residents elected a new mayor. Out of 494 votes, Jeremy Fey received 127 votes to unseat incumbent Kathy Heider with 107 votes, according to Town Clerk Reba Bechtel.


Jackie Mitchell received 165 votes to unseat incumbent Judy Laratta with 163 votes. Voters approved a 2 percent sales tax increase for public safety services by two votes, 117 yes, and 115 no.


Voters also authorized the City Council to appoint a vacancy on the council by a 150 to 77 vote.
