Omayra Acevedo, Peak to Peak. With the ever so melancholic Valentine’s Day coming up, I thought I’d share with you one of many Romantic Colorado weekend get-a-ways. I kid about the melancholic part. For some people it truly is one of the most romantic days of their life, I mean, year. So, where shall we go? I know! Aspen, Colorado! That’s right! It’s one of my favorite places (mostly in Autumn), but if you’ve got a special someone you want to celebrate Valentine’s day with, you should consider going to Aspen for the weekend.

Imagine this. You get off the highway and as you drive through the towns of Glenwood Springs, Carbondale and Snowmass, the untouched snow before you glistens, you’re surrounded by some of the most quintessential Colorado scenery. Music plays in the background as the feeling of excitement, love and relaxation all begin to set in at once.
You arrive at the hotel, motel, lodge, bed and breakfast, resort or chateaux – whichever you prefer. One thing Aspen isn’t short on is places to stay or things to do. You check in, find your room and get settled in. After you freshen up, you head out for your first night on the town. Because you’re a planner, you’ve already made reservations to the most romantic restaurants, right?
Your table is perfect. Candle light, flowers in a vase, Rocky Mountain charm and ambiance all greet you as you sit down. You look through the menu and your mouth starts to water. The options make it difficult to choose, but you get through it. The meal, drinks, maybe dessert are enjoyed with great company and conversation. Your get-a-way is just beginning.
What next? Well, my dear hopeful romantics, the rest of the story is yours to write. Don’t forget to book your spa package, horseback rides, hikes, tours, maybe some shopping, etc. You have as many days as you’d like to allow the magic of the Rocky Mountains to inspire, relax, excite you and fill up your senses. It’s easy to do in a romantic town like Aspen. Some lodging options also bring you goodies to your room during the Valentine’s holiday, at no extra charge! Not sure where to start? Let me help a little:
Step 1: GOOGLE.
Step 2: Compare packages.
Step 3: Book the moment you find what you want.
Step 4: Enjoy!
Please remember that Valentine’s Day isn’t just for those romantically involved. Valentine’s Day is about love. You can plan a galentine’s get-a-way for you and your closest gal pals or stay home with the people (or pets) you love. Love can be an adventure and equally a fairy tale.
