Windy Pines: Experience the captivating sounds of Windy Pines, an ensemble that seamlessly blends bluegrass, jazz, and blues into a harmonious Americana fusion. Starts at 6 p.m. at Very Nice Brewing Company Nederland, located at 20 Lakeview, #112, Nederland. 

Open Mic at Coal Creek Canyon Community Center: First Friday of every month. Folks are welcome to perform through music, song, poetry, comedy, stories, and more. Hosts Norma and Adrian provide snacks and great energy! 7 to 9 p.m. at 31528 Highway 72, Golden. 

Hunter James & The Titanic: Music, dinner and drinks! Starts at 7 p.m. at the Jamestown Mercantile located at 108 Main Street, Jamestown.

Nederland Town Clean Up: Join your community in cleaning up Nederland and keeping our mountains beautiful! Meet at 8 a.m. at the Nederland Transfer Station, 286 Ridge Road, Nederland. 

Gilpin County Arts Association’s 78th Annual Juried Show Opening Reception: The show runs through August 8. The reception is a family-friendly event and potluck – feel free to bring a dish! 5 to 8 p.m., Washington Hall, 117 Eureka Street, Central City.

Nederland Summer Concert Series: Bring a picnic basket, some blankets and chairs, and make yourself comfortable in Nederland’s beautiful Chipeta Park! Music by Blessing Bled Chimanga and Cary Morin Duo. 4 to 7 p.m. at 254-306 Lakeview Drive in Nederland.

CCCIA Canyon Clean Up: Meet at the hall for bags. Pick your favorite area and help beautify the canyon. Due to insurance, no one under 16 can participate. 8 to 10 a.m. Meet at 31528 Highway 72, Golden. 

Exploding Kittens Tournament: Join the Gilpin Public Library for our After Hours in the Stacks Teen series for a dynamite tournament of Exploding Kittens! Registration is not required but highly recommended. This event is for ages 11 through 19 – no parents or younger siblings allowed! 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 15131 Highway 119, Black Hawk.

Summer Reading Kickoff Party: Join us at the Gilpin County Public Library as we get the party started for the Summer. This year will feature a bouncy house, a balloon animal artist, and a bubble station. Come enjoy a morning of fun as we kick off the 2025 Summer Reading Program. 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., 15131 Highway 119, Black Hawk.

Convergent and Divergent Evolution of Heliamphora with Sukuan Li: This summer the CU Boulder Mountain Research Station will be holding weekly seminars on Wednesdays, starting on June 11. Free Build! LEGOS!: Drop in to create and play. Kids can let their imaginations run free while they construct their own creations using LEGO bricks. Duplo and Knex kits are also included.
