COVID-19 testing available throughout Colorado

COVID-19 testing available throughout Colorado. State health department encourages anyone with symptoms to get tested.

Thanks to increased access to testing supplies, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is encouraging anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19 to speak with a health care provider and get tested. Colorado’s state lab has acquired significantly more testing supplies and has adequate processing capacity. This means that the state as a whole, including private partners, has the capacity to test all people with COVID-19 symptoms, as well as to expand surveillance testing.

There are currently more than 35 testing sites open to the public across Colorado, including both free sites supported by the state lab and sites operated by private providers. The public can access a map of testing locations here:

https://covid19.colorado.gov/covid-19-in-colorado/about-covid-19/testing-for-covid-19.

Please note that the map does not provide a comprehensive list of all private providers, only those that have submitted their sites for inclusion in the state’s map. CDPHE will continue to add testing locations to the map as the lab receives information about those sites.

If you have symptoms, get tested

Symptoms of COVID-19 can include fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, muscle pain, new loss of taste or smell, and chills.

If you have symptoms that could be COVID-19, getting tested will provide the diagnosis you need to determine your next steps. If you test positive, you will know that you need to isolate yourself, take care of yourself and monitor your symptoms. Members of your household and those who have been in close contact with you will need to quarantine. You can also “do your part” and get text messages with more information about support available by reporting your symptoms to CDPHE’s symptom tracker.

If you are diagnosed with COVID-19, it is important for you to know that worker protections are in place to ensure that you can isolate yourself, both for your own health and recovery and for the safety of everyone around you.

Federal law requires up to two weeks paid leave for those who work for employers with fewer than 500 employees (though some employers with 50 or fewer employees may be exempt). The Colorado Health Emergency Leave with Pay Rules (“Colorado HELP Rules”) adds coverage for workers as well. Read more in the FAQ.

Additionally, there are many resources available to help you if you need to isolate or quarantine, including help with food and personal financial help.

CDPHE and local public health agencies are working to expand their ability to follow up with people who test positive in order to provide information, support and contact tracing. All personal identifying information is kept strictly confidential, per the requirements of HIPAA.
