CENTRAL CITY – On Tuesday, November 5, 2023, at 5:30 p.m., the Central City Urban Renewal Authority convened in the Council Chambers at City Hall in Central City for their second-to-last meeting of the year. Present were Chair Jeremy Fey, Marcia Enloe, Jeff Aiken, Todd Williams, and Joe Stranaly. Kara Tinucci and April Nielsen were absent. Staff in attendance included City Manager Daniel R. Miera and City Clerk Reba Bechtel.
During a Public Hearing, Resolution 24-06 was presented, which appropriates funds and adopts the budget for 2025. Miera explained the updates in Exhibit A, mentioning placeholders for contract services and administrative support to allow flexibility for unforeseen expenses. The projected ending fund balance is expected to be just over $30,000, with funds advanced from the City to the URA.
Fey opened the floor for public comment, but no comments were made. There were no questions regarding the budget, and the authority unanimously approved the resolution for the 2025 Budget.
Miera then provided an update on recent developments in Plan Area #2, also known as Gregory Gulch. He noted that additional notices had been published in the newspaper as they continue with the Conditions Survey. Property owners and business stakeholders within the survey area have been notified, and some have reached out for more information about the City’s plans.
The Conditions Survey identified eight factors relevant to urban renewal, although only four are required.
Williams moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:46 p.m., with Enloe seconding. The motion carried unanimously.
The next CCURA meeting will be held on December 3, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. preceding the City of Central City Council Meeting and will be held in the Council Chambers at City Hall located at 141 Nevada Street, Central City, Colorado.
