Black Hawk Police Reports: January 2020

On 1/1/20, a Black Hawk officer was dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of a theft of a cell phone. Dispatch advised the suspect was no longer on scene. The officer met with the victim and obtained her information. The suspect was identified and the officer attempted contact with him.

On 1/1/20, Black Hawk officers took a phone report from the Mardi Gras Casino of a lost wallet. The victim was not sure where she lost her wallet.

On 1/2/20, Black Hawk officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident. A report was taken and a summons was issued to the at fault driver.

On 1/2/20, Black Hawk officers responded to the Isle Casino on a call of a backpack theft. The backpack was recovered and suspect was issued a summons and released.

On 1/3/20, Black Hawk Police officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a stolen wallet. The wallet was recovered from the trash but $1800 was missing from it. A suspect was identified and contacted. Part of the money was recovered and a summons issued to the suspect. A report was taken.

On 1/3/20, a Black Hawk officer was dispatched to the Monarch Casino on reports of a damaged slot machine.

On 1/3/20, a Black Hawk officer was advised of an unusual call that was involving a possible motor vehicle theft. The owner of the vehicle was not cooperative with law enforcement and would not provide any information. The person who drove off with the car is dating a female party whom was also not cooperative. This case is completed for informational purposes only.

On 1/4/20, an officer responded to the Sasquatch Casino regarding a fraudulent check. Suspect had been identified and is an ongoing investigation. The check was brought back to the police department and booked in for evidence.

On 1/4/20, Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop at mile marker 5.6 on Highway 119. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence.

On 1/4/20, Black Hawk officers were advised a male party at the Isle Casino had spit on a waitress earlier in the evening. Male suspect has not yet been identified.

On 1/4/20, Black Hawk officers responded to the Ameristar Casino regarding a disturbance between a male and female party. After further investigation, male party was placed into custody and transported to Gilpin County Jail.

On 1/5/20, Black Hawk officers responded to the 100 block of Selak St. on a REDDI report. The driver was placed in custody for DUI and other traffic violations.

On 1/5/20, Black Hawk Police Department was notified of a hit and run crash that occurred on 1/4/2020 in the KMM parking garage. The suspect was identified who caused the crash and an investigation completed.

On 1/5/20, Black Hawk officers responded to KMM Parking garage on the report of a hit and run. The male driver was contacted and issued a citation.

On 1/5/20, Black Hawk officer was at the Sasquatch Casino on another report when he was approached by a female party yelling asking for help. The officer interviewed both parties and determined this was a civil issue that had a misunderstanding.

On 1/6/20, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Lodge Casino, for a reported stolen cellular phone. Report taken.

On 1/6/20, Black Hawk officers arrested male party at the Isle Casino on two warrants. Search incident to arrest led to the discovery of narcotics on the suspect. Male was booked into jail on the warrants and drugs.

On 1/6/20, Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Lodge Casino in reference to counterfeit money. A report was taken.

On 1/8/20, Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino, in reference to a trespass. A report was taken.

On 1/9/20, Black Hawk officers responded to the report of a male pushing a female. After investigation, a summons was issued to the male party for harassment.

On 1/9/20, Black Hawk officers were notified of a REDDI vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and a female party was taken into custody.

On 1/10/20 the Black Hawk Police Department responded to the Z Casino on a report of a woman who believed that she had been poisoned. A report was taken.

On 1/10/20, Black Hawk Police officers responded to the Monarch parking garage on the report of a suspicious person breaking out a car window. Officers arrived on scene and arrested the party for possession of suspected methamphetamine.

On 1/11/20, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Ameristar Casino, for a disturbance. Suspect was located and issued summons.

On 1/12/20, Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino in reference to a subject trespassing. A report was made.

On 1/12/20, a Black Hawk officer responded to a property damage accident at the Isle parking garage. A report taken.

On 1/13/20, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Isle Hotel for a party trespassing. The suspect was located and issued summons.

On 1/13/20, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Z Casino parking lot for a hit and run accident. Report taken.

On 1/13/20, Black Hawk officers initiated a traffic stop with a vehicle near Gregory St. and High St. The driver was issued a citation for fictitious registration tabs.

On 1/14/20, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Lodge Casino on a report of a party with felony warrant. Party was arrested and later booked into the Gilpin County Jail.

On 1/14/20, Black Hawk officers initiated a traffic stop near mile marker 6.0 of Hwy 119. The male driver was arrested for an unrelated warrant and issued a citation for driving offenses.

On 1/15/20, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a vehicle break in.

On 1/16/20, Black Hawk officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of drug use in the parking garage. A male was issued a summons and arrested on a warrant.

On 1/17/20, Black Hawk officers responded to the Lodge Casino on the report of a physical disturbance. The investigation is ongoing.

On 1/17/20, Black Hawk officers responded to a report of a counterfeit $100 bill at the Golden Gates Casino. The suspect was contacted and a report was completed.

On 01/18/20, Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop at mile marker 6.5 on Highway 119. The driver was issued a ticket and the vehicle was towed.

On 1/18/20, Black Hawk officers responded to the Ameristar Casino regarding a civil problem. Both parties had been identified and a female party had a warrant for her arrest. She was placed into custody and transported to Gilpin County Jail.

On 01/18/20, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Isle Casino on the report of a criminal trespass to motor vehicle. One of the suspects was arrested and transported to the jail. The second suspect was identified but not apprehended.

On 1/19/20, a Black Hawk officer responded to a report of a female suspect that had spit in the face of a security worker at the Ameristar Casino. The female suspect fled the Ameristar Casino and ran across the street to the Lodge Casino. The female suspect then got into a vehicle and drove south towards the city limits. The officer completed a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle. After investigating the incident, the female suspect was issued a Municipal summons for harassment for spitting at/on the security officer.

On 1/19/20, Black Hawk Police responded to a report of a lost or stolen wallet at the Isle Casino. The suspect was identified and cited. The wallet and all contents were recovered.

On 1/20/20, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Ameristar Casino for a reported robbery incident. Report taken.

On 1/21/20, a Black Hawk Officer received a phone report of a property damage incident, at the Isle parking garage. Report taken.

On 1/21/20, a Black Hawk Officer responded to the Monarch Casino on a call of damaged property. The suspect was notified and agreed to come to the Black Hawk Police Department to receive a municipal summons.

On 1/24/20, Black Hawk officers observed a verbal disturbance, and contacted the parties involved. Officers verified the argument was verbal, and the parties were staying in the hotel for the night.

On 1/24/20, Black Hawk Police took a report from a party reporting a hit and run that occurred at the Ameristar Casino on January 21, 2020. A report was taken.

On 1/24/20, Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino parking garage in reference to a hit and run accident. A report was taken.

On 1/25/2020, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Ameristar Casino regarding a theft. Suspect has not been identified and a report was taken.

On 1/25/2020, Black Hawk officers responded to a report of a hit and run in the Ameristar Casino garage. A suspect has been identified and a report completed.

On 1/26/20, Black Hawk Police Officers responded to the Isle Casino on a report of a domestic disturbance between a male and female. Officers arrived on scene and separated the parties. Through the investigation, the female was arrested for Domestic Violence Harassment and Violation of Protection Order. The male victim was not cooperative during this contact. The female was transported to the Gilpin County Jail on the charges.

On 1/26/2020, a Black Hawk Officer responded to the Lodge Casino regarding a theft. Property was not returned and a suspect has not yet been identified.

On 1/27/20, a Black Hawk Officer received a phone report for lost property at the Ameristar Casino Report taken.

On 1/27/20, Black Hawk officers initiated a traffic stop with a vehicle near Hwy 119 at Richman St. The driver was issued a citation for misusing license plates and the plates were seized.

On 1/28/20, Black Hawk officers responded to 488 Main Street the Monarch Casino on a call of a counterfeit bill. An officer spoke with the suspect who said she received the bill from the Kiosk at the casino; the bill was seized and booked into evidence.

On 1/28/2020, Black Hawk officers responded to the Lady Luck Casino on the report of a party trespassing. Upon arrival the male party had left and could not be located.

On 1/29/20, Black Hawk officers responded to the 100 block of Main Street on a report of a woman who passed out. Officers discovered the female did not pass out, but had fallen and scraped her face.

On 1/30/20, Black Hawk Police Department located a vehicle at the KMM parking garage with a fictitious license plate. The license plate was seized and the keys were removed from the vehicle for safekeeping since the registered owner was not present.

On 1/30/20, Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Lodge Casino in reference to a party reporting suspicious activity on their cell phone. The welfare of the party was evaluated by officers and medics and suspicious activity was documented in a police report.

On 1/31/20, Black Hawk officers responded to a REDDI report leaving the Ameristar Casino. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was subsequently arrested for DUI.

On 1/31/20, Black Hawk Police responded to a report of a wanted party at the Lady Luck Casino. The party, had a warrant issued by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for failure to comply. The suspect was transported to the Gilpin County Jail.

On 1/31/20, the Black Hawk Police were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino on the report of an intoxicated party attempting to drive away in a vehicle. The subject drove away prior to arrival, but was pulled over on Highway 119 and mile marker 5.8 southbound. The subject was issued a summons for DUI.

On 1/31/20, Black Hawk officers responded to the 100 block of Gregory Street on the report of a female falling from the street onto the sidewalk. The female suffered injuries and was transported to the ER. A report was taken.
