Black Hawk Police Reports August

On 8/1/19 at approximately 3:20 p.m., a Black Hawk officer responded to the Lodge Casino on a report of harassment. Victim did not wish to press charges. 

On 8/2/19 at approximately 3:38 a.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a hit and run. The suspect vehicle was contacted on Highway 119 at mile marker 5.3 headed south bound. The driver of the vehicle was arrested, transported to the Gilpin County Jail and booked in for driving under the influence of alcohol.

On 8/2/19 at approximately 8:22 a.m., the Black Hawk Police Department was notified by Lakewood Police Department that an endangered missing elderly male maybe located in our Black Hawk gambling. The missing male was quickly located in front of the Isle Casino.

On 8/2/19 at approximately 7:25 p.m., an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a two vehicle crash. The driver and passenger of the victim vehicle were making complaints of injury but were not transported to the hospital. A ticket was issued, and an investigation conducted.

On 8/3/19, an officer responded to Highway 119 and Mill Street to assist construction crews by blocking traffic so they could retrieve a concrete barrier that was pushed off the roadway into the ditch. An investigation was conducted, and nobody was able to determine the cause of the barrier being pushed off. No new damage was caused to the barrier and it was recovered and placed back where it belonged. A report was taken.

On 8/4/19, officers responded to the Lodge Casino on the report of a theft. Report was taken and the investigation is ongoing.

On 8/4/19 at approximately 12:37 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino reference stolen property. Two male suspects have been identified.

On 8/5/19, officers responded to the Bull Durham Casino regarding a counterfeit bill. Counterfeit bill was seized and booked into evidence.

On 8/5/19, an officer responded to a criminal mischief incident, in the 400 block of Main Street, Black Hawk. Suspect was located and issued summons. 

On 8/7/19 at about 2:16 p.m., a female party called the Black Hawk Police Department to report her cell phone had been stolen at the Wild Card Casino earlier in the day. No suspect has been identified.

On 8/7/19, officers responded to the KMM parking garage on the report of a theft from vehicle. After further investigation, the suspects trespassed numerous vehicles, and the investigation is ongoing.

On 8/11/19 at approximately 6:05 p.m., Black Hawk Police Dispatch aired a REDDI (drunk driver) report of a vehicle going north on Highway 119 towards Black Hawk. An officer found the vehicle and arrested the driver for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. A report was taken.

On 8/11/19 at approximately 9:25 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino on a reference of a hit and run accident.

On 8/13/19 at approximately 11:21 p.m., officers located a stolen vehicle in the 200 block of Gregory Street.

On 8/15/19, officers were advised of an ordinance violation at 210 Chase Street. Both officers made contact and report was generated.

On 8/16/19, an officer was on routine patrol when he observed a large portion of the fence along Gregory Street in front of the Sasquatch Casino had been knocked over and damaged. The damage appeared consistent with a vehicle striking the fence. Surveillance cameras were reviewed for suspect information.

On 8/17/19, officers responded to the intersection of Richman and Main Streets regarding a disturbance between a female and male party. After further investigation, it was a verbal altercation. Upon clearances with both the parties, they had mandatory protection orders stating they could not consume alcohol. Both the parties were placed into custody and taken to Gilpin County Jail.

On 8/17/19, an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of parties using drugs in the parking garage. The parties left the garage and a traffic stop was attempted and the parties fled south on Highway 119.

On 8/18/19, the Black Hawk Police Department responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of vandalism that stemmed from a disturbance. The incident was investigated and a report was taken.

On 8/18/19 at approximately 8:45 p.m., a Black Hawk police officer responded to the Golden Gate Casino at 261 Main Street, on the report of a disagreement between two people at the poker table. Upon arrival, the dispute was resolved through and with the Colorado Division of Gaming, but one of the parties had a warrant from another jurisdiction. That party was arrested and taken to the Gilpin County Jail.

On 8/19/19 at 1:22 a.m., an officer was dispatched on a report of a female suspect attempting to exchange a fake US Coin at the Z-Casino. The manager advised the female suspect that the police were going to be called and the female suspect left the area.

On 8/20/19 at 5:40 p.m., an officer took a report on a vehicle trespass at the Lodge Casino Valet Parking lot on 240 Main Street, Black Hawk. Several items were taken by an unknown suspect. Surveillance video was reviewed during the day and a male was observed entering the victim vehicle. 

On 8/21/19 at 3:40 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Gilpin Casino on 111 Main Street in Black Hawk, on a report that the suspect in the trespass was on scene. The suspect matched the description of the individual that had trespassed the victim’s vehicle. Suspect was arrested and transported to the Gilpin County Jail on bond.

On 8/21/19, an officer responded to the Saratoga Casino on a stolen cellular phone. A report was taken.

On 8/22/19, a woman called the Black Hawk Police Department to report that she was missing two pieces of jewelry. She believed the items were lost or taken while she stayed at the Isle Casino. A report was taken.

On 8/23/19, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a male having a possible warrant. The male was contacted and arrested.

On 8/23/19, a male party reported that he struck a parked vehicle while at the Ameristar Casino on August 22, 2019. A report was taken.

On 8/23/19 at approximately 9:00 p.m., an officer took a phone report from a party stating a friend is refusing to give her bicycle back to her. All parties involved were spoken to over the phone and no direct contact was made. An investigation was conducted and it was deemed the situation was of a civil nature and not criminal. During the investigation, the officer learned two parties involved had warrants out for their arrest. Attempts were made to locate those individuals but was unsuccessful. A report was taken.

On 8/24/19, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino at 111 Richman Street in Black Hawk, on the report of male party refusing to leave. The male was placed in protective custody and transported to the hospital for detox.

On 8/25/19 at 6:31 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance at the Ameristar Casino. The victim did not want to pursue charges, suspect released on a warning.

On 8/25/19, an officer responded to the Golden Gates Casino, for found narcotics. Suspect was located and issued summons.

On 8/25/19 at about 10:30 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a disturbance at the Ameristar Hotel and Casino. During the investigation, it was found that a male subject had broken a female subject’s phone at the Lodge Casino. Male subject was arrested for Domestic Violence Criminal Mischief.

On 8/26/19, an officer became aware of an attempted theft of a traffic sign at the Monarch Casino parking garage. Through surveillance video, three suspects attempted to steal the sign attached to a concrete pillar.

On 8/27/19, an officer responded to the 100 block of Clear Creek Street for a property damage accident. Report taken.

On 8/28/19 at 1:29 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a report of a traffic accident on the 10th level of the Ameristar Casino and Hotel Garage.  

On 8/28/19 at approximately 3:24 p.m., officers responded to 401 Main Street the Isle Casino Hotel on a call of found drugs. The drugs were booked into evidence for destruction.  

On 8/29/19 at approximately 12:14 a.m., officers responded to Crooks Palace parking lot to assist Division of Gaming Investigators. A male party was taken into custody by Gaming with additional charges from Black Hawk PD for domestic violence.

On 8/29/19 at approximately 1:17 a.m., officers responded to mile marker 3.2 on Hwy 119 to assist Colorado State Patrol on a possible disturbance. A female party was taken into custody for DUI.

On 8/30/19, officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver was arrested for driving revoked - habitual traffic offender.

On 8/30/19, an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of found drugs. Two subjects were subsequently arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

On 08/31/19 at approximately 6:16 a.m., Black Hawk Officers were dispatched to a REDDI report leaving the Ameristar Casino’s parking garage. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was subsequently arrested for DUI.

On 8/31/19 at 10:52 a.m., officers responded to a report of a male trying to sell jewelry on the casino floor at the Lodge Casino. Suspect was issued summons for selling property without license.
