Black Hawk Council meets

Jacqueline Hart Gibson, Black Hawk. The regular Black Hawk City Council meeting was called to order July 24, 2019, at 3 p.m. on 211 Church Street, in Black Hawk, with the ringing of the bell. The meeting continued with roll call, the pledge of allegiance and confirmation that agenda changes were not necessary. Minutes from the July 10, 2019, City Council meeting were approved, and no conflicts of interest were reported.   

In public hearings, an ordinance approving an intergovernmental agreement for the 2019 special election between the city of Black Hawk and Gilpin County, by the Gilpin County clerk and recorder, passed unanimously. 

In action items, a resolution approving amendment No. 2, to the CMGC contract executed on May 22, 2019, between the city of Black Hawk and Taylor Kohrs LLC, and accepting the guaranteed maximum price (GMP) not to exceed $2,599,631 plus 5 percent city contingency for construction of the Hidden Treasure Trailhead Project. This would be a total of $2,699,631, which was approved unanimously. 

A resolution approving the supplemental change order to the professional services agreement for the Hidden Treasure Trailhead Project regarding construction administration services with Stolfus and Associates, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $210,283, was approved unanimously.

The last action item, a resolution approving the combined addendum to the subdivision/site improvement agreement, dated June 21, 2017, and fourth amendment to subdivision/site improvement agreement dated December 12, 2018 between the city of Black Hawk, Colorado, The Lodge Casino, LLC and JIJE, LLC, was approved unanimously. 

The city manager and city attorney had nothing to report and the council adjourned for an executive session. 

In the special meeting of the Black Hawk City Council, a resolution approving the encroachment agreement between the city of Black Hawk Urban Renewal Authority and TRECO Blackhawk LLC, was approved unanimously, and the special meeting adjourned.
