Armstrong runs for re-election

My name is Kevin Armstrong, and I am seeking re-election as your Gilpin County Sheriff. It has been an honor and privilege to serve as your Sheriff since 2019. During this time, I have gained an informed perspective and collaborative understanding of the needs in our community. I am truly blessed to have great support within the Gilpin County community and hope to continue to earn that for another term.

Together with Undersheriff Tonia Kapke and our exceptional team at the Sheriff’s Office, we have accomplished several positive improvements to our operations and to the services we provide to the community. With your support, we will continue to work tirelessly to bring a sense of unwavering commitment, transparency, and accountability from within to the community. Policies and procedures continue to be updated to reflect fast changing standards and legislation. A number of grants have been secured to assist in the operation of the Sheriff’s Office and reduce the financial impact on the county. Under my Leadership, The Office of Emergency Management has been expanded to safeguard efficiently coordinated efforts during times of need. In collaboration with County Commissioners, retention programs have been established, ensuring the community has continued coverage of essential emergency services at all times.

When I took office, I made it one of my top priorities to develop positive and collaborative relationships with our First Responders in Gilpin County. This partnership between all First Responder services is extremely important to the critical response to any crisis in the county. My tenure has seen that relationship grow. That is something my re-election would continue to focus on fostering.

Despite many challenges presented to us during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have persevered and will continue to focus on providing top quality service to our community. Part of providing that service is always making decisions based on all the facts presented and what’s the best outcome for all in Gilpin County. The safety and security of our community is always at the forefront of my mind. If re-elected, my commitment to continued collaboration, emergency planning, implementing effective policies, and community safety will continue to grow. I will continue to encourage our community to share their thoughts and ideas. It is with your support that I hope to continue to meet the needs of our community through collaborative efforts and open communication.

I am committed, honored, and motivated to continue as your Gilpin County Sheriff, and I humbly ask for your support in the November election.

Thank you,

Kevin Armstrong
