Nederland school community gathers: Nederland Middle-Senior High School’s PTA (Panther Parents) serve the middle school students during the annual Harvest Feast.[/caption]
Gratitude and food was abundant at the annual Harvest Feast at Nederland Middle-Senior High School on Friday, November 17. The PTA and student council organize the event for the school every year. Local first responders and area seniors were invited to join the students during the extended lunch times. Parent volunteers make sure everyone is well fed.
It is a nice change from the regular lunch schedule. Plates are piled high with the regular Thanksgiving foods. And, oh, the desserts! Each class is encouraged to bring a dish to share. Sixth graders bring appetizers, ninth graders bring fruits and veggies, and so on. It is an organized giant school potluck lunch.
The Harvest Feast is always held the Friday before the students and teachers leave for a well deserved Thanksgiving Holiday, a week away from school.
Happy Thanksgiving!
