World T’ai Chi day

James Churches, Nederland. We got out there on the fresh grass of Chipeta Park at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2019, to take our turn as the t’ai chi wave rolled around the globe. People in 80 countries practiced t’ai chi at 10 a.m. until the energy had spread completely around the world.

In Nederland, we went deep into the moving meditation that makes t’ai chi so wonderful as a health and spiritual practice. We breathed deeply and relaxed and expanded into the Mother Forms of Master Waysun Liao’s Temple Style T’ai Chi. We learned the opening sequence of the Yang Style form, a combination called Grasp Sparrow’s Tail.

We joined with the wind and the flow of Boulder Creek, the chirping birds and the warm sunshine and the clouds passing overhead, knowing we were spreading a wave of good energy over the entire earth. The motto for World T’ai Chi Day is: “One World...One Breath.”

We felt that connection, that feeling of oneness, that bridging of gaps that make us feel separate from one another and antagonistic toward those different from ourselves. All are welcome in the Great Way of Tao.

Thanks to all who participated in World T’ai Chi Day in Nederland on Saturday, April 27. Those who would like to cultivate a vibrant good life on a regular basis can join Wind, Mountain, Water T’ai Chi, wmwtaichi.org, at the Nederland Community Center on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

All are welcome! Bless this earth! Bless this life. With a bow...
