Tom Lambrecht, Nederland. Heather Hansen will appear at the Nederland Community Center, 750 Highway 72, Nederland, CO 80466 on Saturday, August 11, 2018, from 10 a.m. to Noon, courtesy of the Nederland Community Library.
The Nederland Community Library is pleased to present Heather Hansen, journalist and author, who will talk about her experiences in writing Wildfire: On the Line with Station 8. Throughout the 2016 wildfire season, journalist Heather Hansen witnessed and documented the actions of the Station 8 crew in Boulder, Colorado. Wildfire shares the hardships and experiences of the firefighters who try, sometimes in vain, to prevent destruction when a spark flares out of control. Using the Cold Springs Fire of 2016 as a case-study, Hansen takes us through the drama of wildland fire.
Hansen will be joined by wildfire mitigation specialists from Boulder County and the Colorado State Forest Service who will answer questions and offer local expertise. Signed copies of the book Wildfire will be available for purchase. The event is free to the public.
