Monica LaSalle, Nederland. Eric Abramson of Nederland Fire, Galen Koepke, Mark Foreman, and Kevin Shearer of Timberline Fire, Lance Sokol of Sugarloaf and Chuck Chadakoff of Nederland Fire all enjoy food from the BBQ hosted by Boulder County Slash Yard staff to meet and greet Boulder County residents as they dump off slash and stop to learn more about fire mitigation.

Jody Dickson of Saws N Slaws in Coal Creek was also in attendance to teach people the how’s and why’s of proper fire mitigation and to make people aware of how to go about hosting an event to get help with Fire Mitigation in their neighborhood by getting multiple home owners together to broaden effects of the area and share costs. Check out sawsandslaws.org or find them on Facebook. Leslie Brodhead of Boulder County Wildfire Partners works with a local youth using the demo she set up for a hands on experience working on a property to effectively mitigate to prevent wildfires. Part of the demo has people adding gravel around the entire base of the home to prevent fire from reaching it along the ground.
