Thursday we saw cool air move in with thundershowers. Friday was a fall-like day with steady rain and a high that only reached 52F. Saturday the morning low was 40F. By Sunday we had warmed up to 71F but a few showers moved back in. The monsoon returned on Monday and Tuesday helped along by moisture from a pair of tropical systems, the remnants of Dolly and Norbert. For the most part Colorado escaped the serious floods that occurred in Arizona and Nevada. Total precipitation for the week was 0.78inches, nearly half of our monthly normal.

Forecast
Signs of summer are rapidly waning. The tropical moisture will stay well south and we are fully imbedded in the upper level westerly jet. This will bring a true fall cold shot on Thursday and Friday where we may see our first subfreezing morning and…wait for it….wait for it….some SNOW. Things will clear out late on Friday with much warmer temperatures over the weekend with generally dry conditions through Wednesday.
Thursday –Sep 11: Partly cloudy early with a cold frontal passage midday. Clouds will increase with cold rain late. Highs in the mid 60s with lows in the mid 30s by midnight.
Friday-Sep 12: Cloudy and cold early with rain changing to snow. Accumulation will be light, less than an inch. Lows in the upper 20s rising to the upper 40s with some clearing in the afternoon.
Saturday-Sep 13: Partly cloudy with gusty winds that will bring temperatures back in to the mid 60s with lows near 40.
Sunday-Sep 14: Fair and warmer with highs near 70 after lows in the mid 40s.
Monday-Sep 15: Much like Sunday.
Tuesday-Sep 16: Fair and warmer with highs in the low 70s after lows in the upper 40s.
Wednesday-Sep 17: Warmest day of the week with highs in the mid 70s after lows in the upper 40s.
