Dear Editor and Readers,
Ideally elections are about informed choices. The majority of the voters elect people that they think can be effective leaders based on the qualifications of the candidate and the transparency of their positions on a range of issues involving that office. The key here is being informed about who a candidate is and what they stand for.
The Democratic candidates for elected office in Gilpin County (Susan Berumen, Sahari McCormick, April Nielsen and Zane Laubhan) have a depth of experience and candor that makes them stand out from the competition. They are decent people who care about our community and the future of the county. They ALL showed up for the recent Gilpin County Candidate Forum and they ALL willingly answered every question asked by the moderators.
The Gilpin County Democratic Party will be holding another Meet and Greet this Sunday (Oct. 16th) from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Columbine Park in Dory Lakes. It is a great opportunity to meet these candidates and learn more about them and their positions on Gilpin issues. They represent what’s best in American politics: qualified experience, transparent positions, open dialogue, and respect for the employees and century-old institution that they will lead.
