I Have

Tried through my service to the community, to pay back Gilpin County for the warm welcome I was given when I chose Gilpin County as the place I wanted to live, and raise our family.

Been elected by my Brethren Sheriffs of the 13 Western States to be their president, and represent our unified voices at the Federal Level, to let them know, how actions taken in Washington DC affect us here!

Been an active member of the Colorado Sheriffs Legislative committee for over 15 years, to let those in Denver know their actions have local effects that need to be considered.

Met with Senator Bennet at his Office in Washington to again, let him know that the policies enacted in Washington oftentimes have impacts in not only Colorado, but locally.

I have been elected by my peer Sheriffs in Colorado to be their president and worked diligently to make “our” voices heard in Denver.

Administered and run all aspects of the largest county Office (Sheriffs), taking it from 11 employees to over 60. I’ve done that by keeping in mind that your tax dollars are funding it and you deserve to get the best talent and highest efficiency possible.

I have found you learn more by listening than talking. I WILL continue to listen to you, and do my utmost to give you the best services that you want.
I will continue to do my best to make Gilpin County, the place we all call home, the best it can be!
