As we travel along this crazy road called life, many are fortunate to share paths with a special someone who creates and inspires magic and wonder throughout life. That someone who brightens your day every day, and others days along the way. That someone who supports through thick and thin. Someone who can always be depended on in any situation. Someone who shares hugs in trying times, and brings smiles and laughter in times of joy. That someone you can dress up and be absolutely goofy with. Someone who will dance with you in the rain, and who will stand by your side in times of darkness.
When on stage, the world opens possibilities for both to follow their musical passions, together and individually playing and singing. When in local establishments where paintings are displayed for sale, both are proud to walk in, knowing all the energy and love placed into each artist’s brush stroke. These worlds of music and art and life swirled and twirled together in harmony for all to hear and see.
When at home, their love is reflected in a tastefully decorated house designed to enhance one’s creative juices, while inviting visitors to do the same, to explore. Their place is a safe haven for two adopted feral kittens who started out scared of the world and have now grown into beautiful, loving cats. This alone speaks volumes, showing the compassion and love their household shares.
While many know the musician and artist side of these two love birds, many don’t know the behind the scene sacrifices an artist’s life demands. Always traveling, long days into nights, financial uncertainty, band practice and more practice, creative moments that take days or creative blocks where one’s mind goes blank. There is together and separate time to focus on art, music and friendships; along with regular pressures of life we all experience.
Who, you ask, am I talking about? I’m very proud to call Heather and Otis Lande friends. Having known both of these life loving people for years, we’ve traveled and shared more than can be written. It’s a pleasure to watch the two of them play, love and embrace life with authenticity, always being there for each other regardless of what path has been laid before them.
I wish all a happy Valentine’s Day and I wish all a day to be happy if flying solo. I wish Heather and Otis all the best on this and all future Valentines Days. The love they share shines brilliant for all to see. Meow.
