With Valentine’s Day right around the corner many local businesses use the opportunity to spread the love and give a little something special to the community, or provide the perfect gift for our most cherished loved ones. So regardless if you are a last-minute shopper or looking for the perfect date night, here is a list of what’s happening the week of Valentine’s Day.

Backcountry Pizza is not open for Valentine’s Day, but lovers of football should be sure to stop in on Sunday, February 12 for Super Bowl LVII.

Busey Brews has a $60 couples dinner menu being served all day on February 14, which features shrimp skewers over a bed of greens, pasta carbonara with a smoked chicken thigh, and a chocolate cake with strawberries for dessert. The couples dinner also comes with two complimentary glasses of wine or beer.

The Coal Creek Canyon Community Center has a Valentine’s Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, February 11 from 7 to 11 a.m.

The Covered Wagon will be open for dinner on Tuesday, February 14 with a special menu to be determined.

Decent Bagel is hosting a ramen night on February 14. However their dining room was fully booked within the first hour of posting the event on Instagram. But customers can whisk over to Sweet Sue’s and pick up the fixings for a ramen night at home!

The Mountain People’s Co-op will be selling delicious specialty chocolates leading right up to Valentine’s Day.

The Nederland Community Library is holding a one-night-only “minigala” on Saturday, February 11 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The fundraising event will feature wine tastings and a dessert bar, as well as a rare edition silent book auction and live music by Mystic Pulse.

The bakers at New Moon are concocting something sweet for those looking to surprise their loved ones on Valentine’s Day morning with the perfect confectionery treat.

Spinning Silica is always hosting “date night” hand-building ceramic workshops by reservation through their website. This $50 workshop is for people of all skill levels and is available on Sunday, February 12 and Monday, February 13, as well as after Valentine’s Day, starting Thursday, February 16.

Sweet Sue’s will be selling flowers on February 13 and 14.

Tres Gringos will be cooking up something special for Monday night, February 13.

Very Nice Brewing Company will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. and will be featuring speciality chocolate and beer pairings, with inventive and indulgent chocolates made by Natalie Duplessy of Peace, Love and Cake.

Wild Bear Nature Center is hosting an herbal chocolate making class on February 11, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. What better way to show a loved one that you care than by making them your own original candies. Jump onto their website to pre-register.
