Barbara Lawlor, Gilpin County.  Vail Christian came to Gilpin County last Saturday and demonstrated how they obtained their undefeated status this season. They Saints pummeled the Eagles 48-16, continuing their rampage in the A-8 man league and leaving the Eagles with a 3-3 record.

Saint Ethan Kuhns had a huge day rushing, with 16 carries for 189 yards and three touchdowns. Most of the Vail action took place on the ground as their defense stopped Gilpin’s passing game.

Jon Lovett was the Eagle Player of the Game.

Gilpin was defeated in their previous game with Nederland, a close match, that ended with a Panther touchdown in the last minute. It is sure to be a great mountain rivalry game filled with non-stop action on the Gilpin field.
