The Tungsten to Bobtail Natural Gas Project team invites the community to learn more about construction taking place in Dory Hill Road. The public meeting will provide an opportunity for our project team to answer questions you may have about construction in Dory Hill Road. We want to collect your comments related to construction to help us plan for continued construction activities between the city of Black Hawk and State Highway 46.

Date: Tuesday, July 30, 2019
Time: 5:30-7:30 p.m. Presentation begins at 6 p.m.
Location: Gilpin County Community Center, 250 Norton Dr., Black Hawk, CO 80422

Construction Updates
Project construction activities continue. During construction, we will provide regular updates via email, our hotline and the project website.

Black Hawk
During the week of July 22, 2019, crews will continue to work in the following area:

  • Dory Hill Road (Richman Street), just south of Silver Gulch Road (just north of Ameristar Casino) to Reservoir Road. During construction, road closures along Dory Hill Road will take place. Crews will work in Dory Hill Road through July and August 2019. No through traffic will be allowed on Dory Hill Road as we construct the project. No resident driveways are located within this current construction area. Through traffic should use State Highways 119 and 46 to bypass the construction work area. The construction work areas will be made passable should emergency vehicles need to use Dory Hill Road while crews are not conducting activities. If this is not possible, the contractor will notify the Gilpin County Emergency Manager. Flaggers will be placed on both ends of this closure at all times.
  • Mill Street, between State Highway 119 and Miners Mesa Road. Work at the intersection of Mill Street and State Highway 119 and across the bridge will continue. Lanes will be reduced, but through traffic will continue, and sites will remain accessible.

Once natural gas line installation is completed in Black Hawk, restoration of work areas will occur.

Unincorporated Gilpin County
During the week of July 22, 2019, crews will work in the following areas:

  • Dory Hill Road, Gilpin County Line heading north. During construction, road closures along Dory Hill Road in unincorporated Gilpin County will take place. Crews will work in Dory Hill Road through July and August 2019. No through traffic will be allowed on Dory Hill Road as we construct the project. Through traffic should use State Highways 119 and 46 to bypass the construction work area. During the week of July 22, road closures on Dory Hill Road start just south of the turn-off to Silver Gulch Road within the city of Black Hawk and extend north into Gilpin County to approximately 1,400 feet north of the turn-off to Reservoir Road. No resident driveways are located in this closed segment. The construction work areas will be made passable should emergency vehicles need to use Dory Hill Road while crews are not conducting activities. If this is not possible, the contractor will notify the Gilpin County Emergency Manager. Flaggers will be placed on both ends of this closure at all times.
  • State Highway 119, from State Highway 46 heading north. Crews will work within this area throughout July 2019. Lanes will be reduced, but through traffic will continue, and sites will remain accessible. During the week of July 22, work will occur north from approximately Dory Lakes Drive.
  • State Highway 119, from South Beaver Creek Road heading south. Crews will work within this area throughout July 2019. Lanes will be reduced, but through traffic will continue, and sites will remain accessible.

Southwest Boulder County
Initial construction activities in Boulder County are anticipated to begin as early as August 2019. We will provide updates related to the schedule in this area as the project continues.

Additional Construction Details
During construction, you will see construction contractors in your area regularly. Prior to natural gas line work, you may also see contractors marking existing utilities and visually exposing them by potholing roadways to verify utility line locations. Traffic control signage will also be placed along roadways in advance of construction activities.

We will have traffic control set up during construction activities. Area commuters should expect delays when navigating around the construction work areas. For your safety and the safety of the crews, please follow all posted detour signs and directions from construction personnel.
