Year end is a busy time for the finance department. The first quarter consists of wrapping up the upcoming year’s budget, closing out the prior year’s financials and jumping into the audit while still maintaining day to day operations.
Budget Update. The 2022 Budget Book has been submitted to and was approved by the Department of Local Affairs and can be found on the Town’s website: https://nederlandco.civicweb.net/document/33447
2021 Financial Update. Pre-audited financials for the year ended December 31, 2021 will be provided at the March 15 BOT meeting. There might be some minor adjustments to make prior to the final audited financial report but it will be a solid representation of the revenues and expenses for the year.
2021 Audit. The audit start date for the 2021 financials is scheduled for April 18. I foresee it being an efficient and smooth process.
2022 Financial Update. The January and February financials will be provided at the March 15 BOT meeting. The annual budgeted revenues and expenditures need to be separated into monthly projections and loaded to the accounting program prior to delivering the financial report.
