The Nederland 2022 Town Clean Up Day was held on Saturday, June 4, and with the help of participants, staff, and volunteers, was a great success!
“We had 105 participants and the dumpsters were full by 11 a.m. At that time we had about 20 more roll through the transfer station,” event organizer Nicki Dunn told The Mountain-Ear.
Of the 105 participants, 44% were there just to drop off their hard to recycle materials.
Town Clean Up Day is an event designed by the town of Nederland to assist its residents in participating in zero-waste efforts by disposing of their accumulated trash and hard to recycle materials.
Several community agency partners, like the Nederland Fire Department, were in attendance to assist. Homes by Jackie Jones was there to pass out doughnuts and collect items for the Food Pantry. Multiple other community organizations offered recycling and disposing services for various items, from electronics to yard trimmings, to hazardous materials like antifreeze.
Thank you to all who participated and to the members of town staff and local government boards, Colorado Rangers, and Nederland residents who volunteered to help make this year’s event such a success.
