Timberline Fire Protection District (TFPD) convened its monthly board meeting on Tuesday, April 16, at Station 3 in Black Hawk, Colorado. Present were President Rick Wenzel, Vice President John Bushey, and Members at Large Kristin Turner and John Carder, along with Fire Chief Paul Ondr and Administrative Chief Jennifer Hinderman. Member at Large Mary Kate McKenna was absent.
One of the main agenda items was the adoption of Streamline, a web platform aimed at ensuring ADA compliance, accessibility, and managing reputation risks. The subscription approval means residents will soon have the convenience of online payments and volunteer application submissions.
Hinderman expressed enthusiasm for the platform, highlighting its 24/7 technical support and collaboration with other fire districts.
She added, “I’m really, really excited about this app.”
The decision to implement Streamline aligns with the requirements of House Bill 21-1110, emphasizing accessibility to government IT. Failure to comply by July 1, 2024, could lead to legal consequences as outlined in the bill.
Regarding fees, TFPD reviewed its fee schedule during a public hearing following a workshop on April 10. The Board adjusted the schedule to include references to state statutes and to clarify the adoption procedure. The fees encompass various services, such as CORA requests, nuisance fire alarm fees, and property-related charges.
For instance, developers now face a $1,000 fee for building construction plan reviews and permits. Additionally, residential developments in Boulder County incur a $2,500 contribution per dwelling unit to the TFPD for water fund purposes.
All proposed fee changes were approved without objections during the meeting.
