What do you get when you combine the taste of southwestern charm and a bit of Colorado history? The answer is found within these 400 words. It was amid the pandemic when the idea of the Table Mountain Station struck Table Mountain Inn’s General Manager John Payne. Yet another reminder that good things can emerge from dark times.

The Table Mountain Station is a 3200-square-foot indoor/outdoor pavilion located at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, Colorado. A place where weddings, family reunions, birthdays, graduations, company parties, meetings, and more can be held or celebrated. Each one comes complete with Table Mountain Inn’s delicious Southwestern-inspired full-service catering. Options include breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus.

What about the sometimes challenging weather of The Rockies? No worries. For your convenience and comfort, the Table Mountain Station can easily accommodate any event, any time of year. Wait. There’s more. Fancy some music during your event? There’s a stage. Whether you book a disc jockey or a band, there’s a place for them too.

Guests will not only be impressed by the delicately prepared cuisine but the entertainment as well. They’ll also enjoy stepping back into Colorado’s railroad past via more than 100 narrow and standard gauge steam and diesel locomotives, passenger cars, and cabooses. The 15-acre railyard at the foot of the Rocky Mountains offers views that will only add to the ambiance of your event.

Train rides and a landscaped outdoor railroad garden are great fun for the young and mature alike. Every season seems to bring something special to the museum. There’s the Day Out with Thomas the Engine in September, and a train ride to the North Pole aboard The Polar Express in November and December. Throughout the year, visitors can also partake in various public programs and activities.

I was lucky to be part of the exclusive media event celebrating the creation of something new, exciting, and beautiful. After attending and having the pleasure of speaking with Payne, I knew this was magic in the works. I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it. I love our Centennial State and everything it stands for!

So, my dear reader, what does one get when the forces of Table Mountain Inn and the Colorado Railroad Museum merge? There is only but one absolute answer: A quintessential Colorado experience.
