Hello,
I just wanted to reach out to say thanks for the January 11 podcast episode “1988 in Nederland Colorado...”
I am Bill Allen’s second oldest son, and I really appreciated listening to the story about his columns. I would have been about 4 when the article about high prices was published, so I probably would not have been aware of the kerfuffle, but I do remember that dad was always proud of his writing and the columns he got published. Anyway, in the story my brother Bob mentioned how the brothers spent a few nights combing through the archives to read those articles; between the youngest to oldest of the five brothers, there are close to twenty years of age difference, so we don’t have that much in common. When dad got sick, it brought us all together as adults, and we have maintained that relationship since. What we do have in common is growing up in Ned, a common scowl, and dad.
Anyway, I really enjoyed the story, so thanks again.
Jay Allen
