Dear Editor,
After a year at Oregon State University I have had a lot of time to reflect. Winning the Barbara Lawlor Journalism Scholarship meant a lot to me and I would like to thank you for the opportunities you provided during my senior year of high school. I went to Oregon State University in the pursuit of a natural resources degree, but I will be changing this term to new media communications and journalism. Working for The Mountain-Ear influenced me in a larger way than I thought possible and I am excited to start pursuing writing and journalism in college.
Thank you for inspiring me and providing solid and honest reporting to the mountain community.
