Dear Editor,

I would like to thank all the residents in Gilpin County for supporting the Sheriff’s Office.  Although the mill levy did not pass, I want to assure the community the Sheriff’s Office will continue to strive to meet our Mission Statement:

"It is the Mission of the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office to serve the citizens and visitors of Gilpin County by providing the highest level of professional law enforcement, detention and court security that protects and preserves the Constitutional Rights of the people and mandates impartial enforcement of the law. The men and women of the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office are entrusted to protect the lives and property of the citizens of Gilpin County, to preserve the peace, and to prevent crime and disorder in partnership with our community."

I would like to congratulate Web Sill and Sandy Hollingsworth on winning the election for County Commissioners.  I look forward to working with the new Commissioners and Commissioner Isenhart on meeting our Mission Statement.

I appreciate the working relationship I had with Commissioners Engels and Watson these last two years.  We have not always agreed on everything but the respect and collaboration we shared were valuable to meet the needs of our community.  I want to wish each of them the best of luck in their future endeavors.

We will get through this crisis together.  #Gilpin County Strong

Thank you Gilpin County!

Kevin Armstrong,
Your Sheriff
