Dear Editor,
I would like to thank David Spellman and everyone who developed the multi-use trail system on Maryland mountain. I understand it took 20 years of work for Black Hawk to acquire this land. The trail system is world class and has access for everyone, from elderly hikers to expert mountain bikers, and plenty of room for all. Also, thanks to Gary Moore of the CO Mountain Bike Association for organizing volunteers to complete the trail system. He noted that Mayor Spellman has been one of the hardest working and consistent of all. I am very grateful for your contribution to the Gilpin County recreational experience in these troubled and fiscally strained times due to the pandemic.
Sincerely,
Patrick Bird
Gilpin County
